realisticaly people are finding scapegoats in many different forms at the moment. personally iam relativly happy that the focus on fire safety has really shifted from stay and defend prior to black saturday, to evacuate, and conversely i beleive we have seen a drop in the fatalities. of course you cannot force people to leave and some will chose to chance a defence for many different reasons.

Andrews declared a state emergency today so they actually can forcibly remove people....which I’m not totally comfortable with tbh....but that’s more tin foil hat related

What is all this CO2 bullshit about anyway?

Australian forests eeeeeeeaasily sequester more CO2 than the average per capita output of Australians.

We use a lot of coal? So ****ing what?
find it pretty hard to follow your logic here, so by the same logic one could argue pelly the perv may have touched up a few kids but sheesh he had a lot of hail marys in the bank?

Looking at the weather predictions tomorrow the issue is going to be the Southerly changes coming through late afternoon. Most of the winds prior are northerlys between 5 to 10 kms per hour. It’s going to be a hot day but it could be worse

The other big problem is that it is January 4th and not middle February

Well you wouldn’t know because of the other smoke up here

I was actually at Bunnings attempting to save my veggie garden from imminent destruction from lack of water. Checked the back shed tank and it’s 3/4 full and so set up a soaking hose gravity fed/timer arrangement.

All in the hope that my August tomato seedlings take me back to the way tomatoes used to taste

DYK that the only good tasting tomatoes I have tasted in 20 years were those I ate in Rome in October 2014. Go figure

Anywho Tef is correct, most paddocks are bare. It’s the sides of roads and State Parks that are looked at with trepidation
Stay safe mate.

i have already rationalised the priority of our garden, left the tomatoes to wither unfortunately and concentrating on the Hops and grapes.

the hops are killing it and grapes are having their best year. 1578043204919.png

this exactly. iam pretty fearfull what scenario we will be in 4 weeks, this could be a scenario like on black saturday where the delburn fires the weeks earlier were actually a blessing in disguise for the mid gippy residents occuring in a lot safer conditions than black saturday when the churchill fire occurred with lethal consequences.

Imagine if Social Media had been around after the Munich Agreement
Goebbels would be giggling like a schoolgirl if he had access to that technology.
