I feel sorry for people that have this viewpoint in things. That viewpoint is the same viewpoint as rednecks have and those that boo during MMA fights that go to the ground.

People say the same thing about freestyle and folkstyle wrestling, MMA, and BJJ.

While WWE wrestling was never that special the stories and theatre are interesting and definitely peaked during the attitude era of DX, Stone Cold Steve Austin and co. But IMO it's done/dying and has been for nearly 2 decades. They have an inability to create stars so they bring in the same people over and over (Kurt Angle, Brock, Undertaker, Triple H - all >40 now). For that reason, they are left trying to please different audiences - like pushing for females to headline Wrestlemania events and female-only cards. IMO a poor marketing ploy because like Hollywood movies (superhero types) it's transparent and their main demographic is men >40s. If you upset that subset you risk losing the loyal base and bleeding even more money.
