Is this the thread where we post how some frustrated Americans feel about their current state of affairs?

Excellent article.

Sure, it had a focus on the utter ineptitude and corruption of the current US government, but the underlying story is undeniable. That country is split, divided, a stranger to itself, its uber-capitalist structure sucks its wealth away from the vast majority, making the American Dream just that, a dream whose carcass is being fed upon by vultures.

Wasn't too hard to predict what is happening in America now. Things aren’t perfect here and for all their faults at least you can’t accuse our political leaders of screwing things up like they have over there. Morrison is listening to health experts, Trump is listening to his dumb, rich, spoilt brat son in law. Morrison seems genuine and looks absolutely exhausted. Trump talks incoherent crap and is egging on the ferals. **** I’m glad I live in this country.

I'm pretty sure it's only license based. I always try to keep attached to a uni so I have free access to programs like Tableau, the adobe suite, and journal databases because I know they try and charge you an arm and a leg and the cost/benefit ratio isn't worth it.

Cheers, work for one RTO and doing online uni through another. All signed up now. :thumbsu:

On a different note RE:coding, missus who was a casual is putting time to good use. She's using one of my 'Coding for Dummies' books and getting the basics of JavaScript through these interactive game exercises. Doing well for a luddite #proud.

Actually jealous as i build reasonably basic sql queries which can be dry AF.

He should start a YouTube channel aimed at middle America and Queenslanders. He’d make a killing.

Yep, he'd definitely make a killing with a sideline in colloidal silver water and ayurvedic tea.

If you are suggesting that a group of people with power are conspiring to perpetrate something or deceive the public then that is a conspiracy. If you have no evidence to support that suggestion it is a theory. I am not quite sure what other language you think should be used in these circumstances? One thing bout conspiracy theories is that the people pushing them almost always believe they are true.

I stuck this here cos were getting off track in the other thread.

Semantically a theory has evidence, however the evidence hasn't been tested (or has been tested but so far has passed the test. Ie the theory of evolution.) Unless major new discoveries are found that theory will continue to be refined but won't be overturned.

Same with theories of relativity, physics etc etc.

So by definition calling something a conspiracy theory means there must be some evidence for it. Not having any evidence would immediately relegate the idea to the realm of "something you just made up."

A better word for what you are talking about would be conspiracism. It's more accurate language.

There are conspiracy theories, for example the theory that Charles Manson was the subject of an experiment by people working for the CIA under the guise of MK ULTRA. That is a theory that was once considered foolish but evidence has been gathered, particularly by Tim O'Niell that deserves a lot more investigation.

Can you refer to that particular theory without the implicit bias that leads you to say things like One thing bout conspiracy theories is that the people pushing them almost always believe they are true... As if there is something wrong with that?

Got to wonder how it happened. Doesn’t seem like a random speeding stop. Two police cars, one unmarked..
Driver flees the scene.

I'm trying to put it together myself, but it appears they pulled over a car and a bloke bailed then I think some detectives arrived.

They had to have been in the stopping lane, so the truck driver appears to be up shit creek.

Mr. Cousins back in jail!

Ben Cousins in 'police custody' following body search and arrest

Former AFL star Ben Cousins has found himself in trouble with the law after he was reportedly arrested in Victoria Park today. Cousins has a long and storied past with drug issues and only last month the former West Coast and Richmond star appeared in a tell-all interview where he talked about his problems and wanting to make a better life for himself after a stint behind bars.

The former Brownlow Medalist however found himself back where he hoped not to be, with Nine News Perth reporting Cousins had been taken to a holding cell after allegedly being found with 2.5 grams of methamphetamine.

“Ben Cousins is right now in a holding cell here at the Perth watch house,” Nine reporter Jerrie Demasi said. He was arrested, found sleeping, next to his car after reports of erratic driving. Police tell me a body search found 2.5 grams of methamphetamine.”

Feels ****ed up but trying to figure it out. Reckon they had them pulled over, people rubbernecking...caught the trucky by surprise and he went onto the hard shoulder. Can’t think of how else it could’ve happened. But yer, he’s ****ed.

Edit. Yeah just realised what you meant. The driver bailed on foot?

The media need to stop reporting on this. 2.5g’s is bugger all for what it’s worth. The whole situation stinks
