To an extent, but it also has to do with a blanket approach as the looters are hiding amongst the protestors, therefore the police can’t always get to the looters. A form of collective action. Definitely not ideal, but it’s standard police practice during mass protests and looting
Standard practice doesn’t apply. This is not a standard time. They’re losing authority over there. I watched a video the other day of a police officer grabbing a woman’s breast, she broke free so they beat her with battens. There’s new videos of police brutality every single day and that’s just reinforces the protestors mindset.
What they’re doing now won’t work. It will get worse if they continue down this path. Shit, it’s starting to move global. If Trumps not careful he’ll lose the police backing, there’s already murmurs they’re not happy with what they’re being forced to do.
