The difference as I see it is:
Pelosi and the other Dems take the knee as a virtue signal, but it's also combined with the introduction of a bill designed to create some reform and temper some of the unrest.

Trump tear gassed people to have a photo OP in front of a church he doesn't attend, holding a book he doesn't read to then threaten the US of the military on American streets.

So when you strip away the fluff you get:

Dems = doing something
Trump = rhetoric

FWIW it’s 1 below 0 currently in the burbs of Melbourne.
Can’t imagine a colder start to the morning in years.

I used to have a paper round in the very early 80s. Not unusual for below zero temps in the morning back then. I'd just moved from Hobart and I used to think Melbourne was much colder when it got cold. There is nothing but an ocean between Hobart and Antarctica and it's still not as bitterly cold as Melbourne in June.

While I don't give a shit about seppoville politics really I find it hard to argue the Dems are the least worst option. Possibly if you live there they are better if you aren't wealthy, that is about it.

People who use digital blackface, and the term woke (from either side of politics) when they don't know what it means should spend some time in a US ghetto. Or on Palm Island.

Of course the other side of that argument is that white people using images of black people to express their emotions with memes is actually a powerful way to reinforce our common humanity and recognise the fact that we are essentially the same things with lighter or darker fur/hair/skin. Especially so for white people who might think there is something different about the various species of human on earth.

Both Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam may look the same in the new Looney Tunes Cartoons that just launched on the streaming service, HBO Max, in the US. However, there’s one thing that’s different if you pay close enough attention: They no longer have guns.

Fudd doesn’t have his rifle that he uses to hunt the “wascawwy wabbit” and Sam doesn’t have his pistols. There are, however, still Acme dynamites on the show and Fudd has to expand his choice of weapons to fight his nemesis.


In one of the new episodes, Fudd uses a scythe to chase Bugs Bunny, who then uses explosives to blow Fudd up several times.

In an interview with The New York Times, the show’s executive producer Peter Browngardt said, “We’re not doing guns. But we can do cartoony violence – TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in."

He added that this was in line with modernising the show and some of the characters may end up being a little different. He said, “We're going through this wave of anti-bullying, 'everyone needs to be friends', 'everyone needs to get along'.”

“Looney Toons is pretty much the antithesis of that. It’s two characters in conflict, sometimes getting pretty violent.”
