Here's a couple of other simple things you can work in to your "act":

Reading that and other articles, it seems to be mostly out of towners mixed with a few locals. Looking at the videos too, some real nasty turds of people with a few n-word drops by one woman in particular.

Really don't like the 'counter-protesters, redneck towns and rural areas are all racist' narrative being pushed, but sadly these type of events draw out the reactionary nutjobs and political extremes. They often target rural towns because they can usually outnumber locals, but don’t have anywhere near the numbers for opposing larger city protests

There has been countless stories of assaults, coward punches and injuries involving Bongaloo's, counter-protesters, ANTIFA-affliated groups, BLM supporters and rioters. The whole thing is a cluster****.

I can't find the link now but similar programs are aimed at right wing groups that are outlined in the datacide article.

Ever heard that saying "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain"?

If you think never living in the US means I can't have an opinion on what happens there why don't apply the same rigour to your own posting. You talk all sorts of shit about all sorts of stuff.

You're not an immunologist but you bang on about COVID 19 all the time.

You can't play footy but you're always banging on about it.

.............blah, blah, blah.

Oh, so it's just your opinion and in no way representative of any meaningful truth?

Fair enough. Carry on.

Most old people do. It’s why they should stop using old people. Obama got grey but that dude is as articulate as ever. Clinton still had his...um drive.
They are or were decades younger.

My opinion is closer to meaningful truth than you'll ever get.

You claim there is no systemic racial bias against people of African descent in law enforcement or any other aspect of US society lol. Where is your evidence?

You don't have any that stands up.

Then what is your point?

As I’ve mentioned previously, I don’t believe this was a racially motivated shooting, I believe that a white guy in exactly the same situation would also have been shot by the cop. So I was making clear all of the reasons why I thought that anyone in that situation would have been shot. I was not saying the cop was justified in shooting, in fact I made it explicitly clear that he wasn’t.

Extinction Rebellion are going to be back to their usual behaviour tomorrow, protesting in the Melbourne CBD. Ho hum

He's had some great shows recently.

The man who predicted the "woke-alypse"

Anyone who hasn’t listened to this yet I really recommend it. So enlightening. The first half is so good for Brets analysis of the current political situation in the US and breaking down how it’s basically the legacy of racism from the US’s past that is echoing on today.

Then he goes into the science of SARSCov2 and he really his his straps.

Brilliant

Yep.

1st half = woke-alypse
2nd half = Sars-CoV-2

Having seen that different angle up thread it looks like they are a lot closer to each other than that other vid floating around, however the guy was still running away.

I disagree about the situation, I don't think just anyone would have been shot. I'm open to evidence that suggest otherwise. But I'm not gonna accept it without looking carefully at it first.

There is plenty of evidence to show systemic and overt individual racism in the US law enforcement systems.

Legacy racism is a term I see floating around, but that’s a little different.

The theory, as you probably know listening to Brett, is that the older racist systems were torn down, but they set most African Americans back a fair way. Their recovery has been stifled by poor economic policies, gig economics, large corporations, the demise of small businesses and everything else we just talked about since yesterday, which systemically affects everyone of the lower classes. African Americans have suffered more because of their poor starting point.

Add in a lot impoverished (academics/university degrees) elites and it is a recipe for disaster.

I agree - when someone is running away, unless you think they pose an immediate threat to society (eg they have a gun and you think they will use it, and obviously this wasn't the case here) there is no reason to shoot them. Chase them of course, or let them go and get them later and just tack some more charges on. But shoot them in the back? Absolutely not.

I agree that there is some systemic racism in America that can often play itself out in the judicial system. I just think in this case the cop had too much adrenaline, or was angry he'd got his ass whooped, or who knows what, and I think he would have shot a black guy, a white guy, or anyone in this situation. I get that you disagree and that's fine, but that's my standpoint.

Alright, Today I become the most proudest parent of all time. My eldest daughter, 5 yo was heard hummingbthe NMFC theme song.

i’ll share a little insight. My wife is a part time campaigner supporter, her family, my campaigner inlaws are dog cheating ****head supporters. When she was 3, my brither in law attempted to lure her to supporting those cheating ****in dogs. So instead of making a public scene, I waited to grab him by the throat and advised him, “its against your best interest she doesnt follow this scumbag ****in team, if you try to coerce her one more ****ing time, i’ll punch your head in until you are unconscious accepting i’ll be a single father”..

so there became the challenge.. my daughter will have outside pressure to be a scumbag supporter that I’ll inevitably disown until TODAY!

She was singing our team song whilst expressing her art!

The misso “Why aRe YoU SoOooO Happy?”

I am happy because My first born has made the best decision of her life! She has succeeded in critical thinking at the young age of 5

Me: HAPPIEST MAN ALIVE

I think it is a good starting point for discussion and finding common ground.

Pretty much except it’s not theory. Well I spose it’s a theory as much as gravity is a theory. It can’t be proven to be fact but the evidence is so overwhelming that anyone with half a brain knows it’s real.

Sorry, that’s the academic jargon coming out, re theory.

It make sense to me and it is consistent with everything we have discussed over the last day or so. It also in keeping with my strong advocacy for small businesses, two parent median income and other stances. I have seen Brett’s argument adopted for former colonial states, especially in Africa, but different circumstances though.

I’m a big fan of Brett’s. Fascinating bloke.
