All I know is my life has never changed according to which government is in power.

It probably did you know.

I lost workers rights in 2004. We lost overtime and some conditions.

Okay.

Whatever two consenting rational people decide to do, is completely up to them.

Facial ejaculations: I figure it's a personal aesthetic. I assume Maher thinks it's demeaning.

Anal sex: Pleasurable for some, not for others. Again, I assume Maher thinks it's demeaning. My only personal "receiver" experience was in a doctors surgery during an examination when the doctor utilized some instrument* to conduct his examination. It was at this moment that I found out that I had the super human ability to leap 8 feet across the room without the use of my arms or legs. It's fair to conclude that I am not a fan.

*at least that's what I hope it was.

So you waited till he wasn't asking you before you answered.

You have the worst case of ODD I have ever seen.

Man Canada is where all the good shit comes from. The yanks are so worried about the southern boarder they neglect the northern boarder.

Hypothetically, If I were to have friends in Canada I imagine those friends would send me birthday cards every now and then with a small amount of South American chalk.

Unfortunately I don’t have any friends

You should look up Marc Emory if you don't know who he is. He's half the reason weed is legal in Canada.

Amazing guy. Changed the world a tiny bit.

Sorry to learn of your recent health issues, Tao. I've been on a bit of a lengthy off-season hiatus from posting on here, but have still been lurking on the regular and have kept tabs on your story. Despite the scare, I'm glad to hear you're okay, dude.

Had a fairly stressful 2019 myself. Problems on the homefront, etc. Won't bother going into the details. Didn't lead to a stroke thankfully, but it did prompt me to take some time out from the minutia of life to help diffuse the stress. Treated myself to a lengthy sojourn, first stop Bali and then on to Canadia, and then back to Bali again on the way home. Was just the tonic. Hooked up with the most excellent and completely lovely Sopwiths North over in Vancouver, and had a thoroughly awesome time. Best person ever. Best holiday ever.

Some quick thoughts on Canada....

- The stereotype is true. They really do make politeness an artform.
- Dope is legal. Thereby earning it an automatic 100% on my personal travel destination rating system.
- From an aesthetic perspective, it's a beautiful place to look at (particularly when combined with the above).
- Man, do they love their beanies. Sorry, touks.
- Cheese is outrageously expensive, and I don't know why.

Also want to give a quick shout out to the good people at China Airlines. (Because of course I'm sure they'll be reading this.) Best airline I've ever flown with by a country mile. Ample leg room, service was fantastic, and the food was freaking awesome.

Anyways, not glad to be back.

Speaking of which, I have just caught up with the 45-odd pages of this new, unimproved Random Thoughts thread. Long story short, I lol'd.

Darn, and just when I'd sworn off posting in this thread ever again.

Had an absolute blast with TOD (as he knows!), and am still a bit befuddled that he thinks we're so polite. I guess it just seems normal to us, but he really was quite agog at it every day.

And yes, for those cannabis questions - all legal, everywhere here. Edibles just came in late last year. Yes, we do include it in road side checks, and no, you're not allowed to be under the influence at most workplaces. Shout out to ferball too, re Marc Emery. You're spot on. His wife Jodie deserves equal credit. Tirelessly and articulately forged the way through many blockages to get us here.

Not sure I've ever seen anyone's eyes go as big as TOD's when he found out he was in a country where it was allll legal. That youtube clip of the kid with the ice cream comes close. Maybe.

The other great TOD facial expression I got to witness was the look of absolute shock and horror as we stood in the grocery aisle and he saw the price of cheese. But it was evened out a little bit later when he told me how much you guys pay to go see a movie. I still have trouble believing it!

And, despite having been here for days, he insisted on still going to the wrong side of the car to get in again and again. Cracked me up every time. But I did get him fairly well-trained towards the end of his stay by calling out "You're still not driving" as he approached it, and watching him abruptly change course. It seems this behaviour is really hard to re-program.

I did not make him wear a touk. But I did offer him a toque.

And yes, he is the best person ever too, and I look forward to many more adventures with him, including hopefully finally being able to attend an actual footy match with real live North players and everything. Dreams do come true.

Maybe it did. Howard’s attack on the unions lead to the big builders using subcontractors and that lead to the builders importing cheap labour from China, which lead to my employer being beaten on price by 50% (50 % is massive).

It’s also had a direct effect on the quality of our buildings. The best thing I did was move into repairs and maintenance because the quality of construction since the government weakened the CFMEU is pitiful.

Non ticketed construction workers building with sub standard materials will cost the next generation big time.

Believe it or not I agree with a lot of what tef says about the state and anarchism, and how shit the alp is but they are still the least worst major party when it comes to ****ing over our national interest for their mates' or owners' personal interest.

Its no contest and stuff like that is the reason why.

Democrats Warn That American People May Tamper With Next Election

January 23rd, 2020

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In his opening statement at Trump's impeachment trial, Rep. Adam Schiff reminded the Senate of their solemn duty and the gravity of just what it is they will be discussing at the trial.

Schiff warned that if Trump is not impeached, the American people may have a chance to tamper with the next election.

"If President Trump is not impeached, the American people might get a say in who is president," Schiff said gravely. "We simply can't allow that to happen. We must diligently defend our electoral process against electoral outcomes we do not like. If that means seizing power through a sham impeachment trial, so be it."

"When the Founders wrote that founding document thing, they never imagined there would be electoral outcomes that Democrats did not agree with."
Democrats also said they even have hard evidence that the 2016 election was compromised by Republicans voting for Trump.

"We know this horrible outcome could happen, because it's already happened once before."

I’m glad all these climate kids are at the world economic forum. It’s almost as bad as having Julianne Hough getting the spirt pulled from her butt.

Al Jazeera called them young campaigners.

You're a funny campaigner Al.

We miss you on here

You are the Ying. Or Yang. Or 6 or 9.

Cheers, @Gaso.

I like to think of myself as a little of both.

Thank you TOD I really appreciate your words and thoughts for my welfare.

No probs, man. I was shocked to read the news about the stroke. You are one very lucky person.

Stress can creep up on you like that. It's often so incrementally gradual that you don't realise how stressed out you are until you blow a gasket of some description or other.

Hope everything trends upwardly health-wise from here on out.

I plan on doing some travel later in the year. I'm sitting on 3 months long service, so I don't really have an excuse not to do it. I've been putting off visiting Egypt which is where my crazy biological father is from. I think it's time.

There's a helluva lot to be said for occasionally stepping away from things and taking in a change of scenery (and culture).

We are preased you riked us.
Thank you for frying China.

Love your work, CA.

(Told you they'd be reading my post.)
