I don't know about that. It's pretty reasonable to suggest he has been guilty of "not practicing what you [he was] preaching" over the years.

Which is, of course, hypocrisy.
We are all hypocrites and he is guilty on this on several other fronts, but I do not believe so in this case. Just because he's got depression doesn't mean he hasn't followed through on his own advice, or at least attempted to. The fact that he developed depression isn't a symptom of not following through on his own advice. The problem is, in this case, was that he followed his own advice on going onto anti-depressants and he had a negative reaction towards them, which sent things out of control for him.

Anti-depressants, structured lifestyle, realistic mini-goals, etc. "Harden up" is one aspect of it all.

I was talking about his depression specific stuff, but if you want to nitpick one part and ignore the rest, fine.

So the first video is him admitting that he is battling and that he's not perfect and that his works are his views on how best to address life in general, not just depression/anxiety, etc.

The second one is generally about standing up for yourself and persevere in your attempts to do so. Call it hardening up, or whatever you like, but it just one part of developing self-confidence/self-belief. Again, it is in reference to life itself rather than just purely depression or anxiety, which are features of it.

My original statement still stands, albeit slightly altered now, his argument has never just been harden up and he did try to follow on his advice, but life got in the way.

Yeah, I get it. I have sympathy for his current situation and I realise the general theme of his messaging is probably positive and helpful.

But I would imagine that even many of his fans (though obviously not all) would see the irony in his current situation. This does not equate to no sympathy / laughing at him, it's just a recognition of the fact that "harden up" is indeed something he has preached.

None at all as he's a behavioural psychologist who was press ganged in to the left-right paradigm by political zombies with half of his I.Q.

He's definitely been victimized for his honesty. He didn't wake up to the fact that western society is largely populated with intellectual infants.

I totally get the irony argument and even agree to an extent with the harden up criticisms. Furthermore, contrary to what my posts maybe implying, I'm not one of his fanboys, with one of the reasons being is that some of his theories are either lacking, or poorly expressed, particularly on the topic of depression.

I just believe it is a bit simplistic to characterize one aspect as something he didn't follow through on. We can be brave and harden up all we like, which he admits he struggled with in the past, but as soon as an unforeseen addiction kicks in affecting brain chemistry, it's hard to maintain a rigid/healthy/strong mental structure.

Anyway, happy to move on.

They hate Trump but they’re scared of Bernie. He’s coming for the billionaires and the big business, ie their money
Which is funny, because a lot of multi-millionaires and rich people (below the billionaire mark) are backing Bernie. An envious bunch those millionaires....

The other lot are a dumpster fire

..........and there we have it. Two shades of shit. Best to check out of the political system altogether (as best you can).

Joe Hildebrand talks about Albanese recovering those working class roots, but I don’t see how as long as they have the greens attached to them.

It sucks, because I can have reasonable political conversations with centrists and moderates, but the extremes have effectively moved away from objectivity and rational discourse. My grandparents were proper unionists and socialists and I had great conversations with them on every topic. I believe that’s changed.

Perhaps I am overstating things.

This bloke has surprised me. I figured he would be front & centre with the ALP hijackers, but he's been calling them out for a while now.

It’s the ultimate power play to show others where they sit in the pecking order. Just have to keep ratcheting up the dems as being against the people.

Mate he can’t do it. He does that and he might as well declare himself dictator, all those 2nd amendment Merican enthusiasts will finally have a reason to revolt against a tyrannical government.

The people would be standing guard believing it’s for the good of the country... Tongue firmly in cheek..
but three years ago if you told me someone could make the American public would believe in a new red scare, I would’ve laughed.
so nothing surprises me anymore.

Bernie is an interesting one as he’s a proper old school socialist, but isn’t a part of the woke brigade like most of his staffers are.

The battle is mostly social democrats and left wing moderates.
