A shortwave infrared image taken from space shows wildfires burning east of Orbost on the south east coast of Victoria

The eerie photos showed the scale of the blazes (pictures near Orbost, Victoria), after high winds and 46C heat on Saturday

That looks very photoshopped.
Not photoshopped.

This morning I rode with the wind underneath two Wedged Tail Eagles who then turned back into the wind to use the drafts to glide above a paddock waiting for I guess rabbits

I suppose I could have stopped and taken some pictures but I didn’t such was their awe above me.

I reckon their wing span was a metre or more

Stuff like that happens in the Bush.

We had a kookaburra come and land on our pool fencing. He didn’t last too long as woofa wanted to play with him

The Rain has come and with it the smell of Bushfire. I am supposing that it’s the water and ash on the ground mixing?
Yep, same in my area. Also would be from the smoke in the atmosphere and the rain clearing the air.

Hey guys, a bit off topic here. I am looking at buying a 4x4 Dual cab ute. Was all set to buy a Wildtrak but after speaking to someone who knows a Ford fleet manager over the weekend, I am having second thoughts. I don't want a Hilux. I like the Amarok but doesn't have Airbags in the back and I have a small boy. Am now leaning towards a Nissan Navara.

Any suggestions or advice appreciated

Triton is probably the next best after Hilux.
