The land was owned by Liberal Party doners, who (if I remember correctly) then commenced legal proceedings against Guy due to projected loss of income as they'd bought the land in the understanding that it would be re-zoned and then developed at (obviously) a ridiculous profit.

Guy is the worst of the worst.

Fisherman's Bend. Say no more.

Yes they sued him (us) for about $3M

The Vic Libs are rooted.

By the time they are next a realistic shout of winning government - 2026! - the political landscape is going to have changed dramatically.

Edit to add 2026 not 8 as next feasible time Libs can win. 2018-22-26 election cycle.

I don’t know man, if there’s a massive downturn in the housing market, even outside of the states control, let’s say a trump 2021 bubble, people will generally run to the libs, as they’re good at money or some shit.

Maybe, but Vic is a rolled gold Labor state and the Libs need to get Hawthorn back before they can think of winning government.

And while markets will go down at some point, domestically the far more lethal thing will be climate change. Sooner or later, sooner most olikely, there'll be Black Saturday Mega, like 500-1000 people burn in an afternoon.

The Libs are so nailed to denialism it will be haunt them for a generation.

Vic. Libs won't be asking Scotty from marketing to help them campaign.

Their main problem is the party has been infiltrated by religious nutcases and the like, braches have been stacked by ultra right wingers, ex Family First types.

Victoria is basically a Melbourne city-state now and that trend is only deepening.

Melbourne as a city is trending further left as well.

It isn't good news for the Libs on that front.

In practice, Labour isn’t much better on the climate change stakes, they’re still beholden to the big miners.
At least they can lie and pretend they give a shit thou.

Vic Labor is pretty good on climate stuff, they have to be though to fight off the Greens.

A point was made earlier about the Andrews government though, and their prison building.

It is an absolute scandal, a disgrace, how prison numbers have risen under this government.

Dude not the Washington Times.

China silent amid growing doubts over coronavirus origins

Unless they leaked it to crack down on their own, HK and Taiwan, it’s highly unlikely.

if it came out of the Lab, it’s more like what happened in the UK with madcow research accidentally being leaked from a lab.

although Dr Xiangguo Qiu is an interesting party.

Operations Holdings Inc is the owner of The Washington Times, which is owned by the Unification Church of South Korea, through their holding company HSA-UWC (Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity). In 1954, Reverend Sun Myung Moon founded this religious movement in South Korea, which is known for its mass weddings and its members are referred to as “Moonies.”

The moonies and Barbra Bush is a spin out.. I think theyre like NXiVM or the family closer to home.

The only reason the asians can do that is because they don’t have overpaid bureaucrats lined up 20 deep stamping approvals and permits, and then being bogged down by feasibility studies ensuring that the Woolly Feathered Moss growing on some rock is not impacted by the development.

Took me 3 months to get approval for a small pergola out back which has no impact on anyone or anything, while in China they built a 57 story building in 19 days. (Photo attached).

so true,

funny how it seems
Always in time, but never in line for dreams
Head over heels when toe to toe
This is the sound of my soul
This is the sound
I bought a ticket to the wo-o-orld
But now I've come back again
Why do I find it hard to write the next line?
Oh I want the truth to be said

Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is true
Huh huh huh hu-uh huh
I know this much is TRUE

This is the second post querying the Dust Storm up here.

Let’s be clear for all in sunbury, it wrecked every Pool in the GV.

I could not see 30 cm into my Pool.

The dust left a residual covering on flat surfaces of 1mm deep and stained every west facing window.

I get to spend this weekend washing and cleaning the shit off everything.

Did that work Gaso with the tablets being the only clarifier you used? Mine was nowhere near it.

Uber Roo If you can get your hands on some flocc, it will dump everything on the bottom and you can vacuum it up. Bunnings told me they'd be back in stock tomorrow. It's well worth getting hold of if you can!
