I don’t think there will be any type of cum-ex scandal within the EU anymore, all of that side of things will be shifted off to the UK..

GEORGE TOWN: Three boxes left by a group of seven people outside the Chinese consulate at the Ayer Rajah area in Pulau Tikus here today caused a stir after a bomb disposal squad detonated them for fear that they could be explosives.
It all began when the two men stood outside the consulate bungalow holding up banners in support of the people of Wuhan and Hubei at about 3pm, followed by an impassioned speech in support of China.
The group then left the three boxes of N95 face masks at the front entrance of the consulate and left.
The consulate alerted 999 at 3.20pm over the boxes which they claimed looked suspicious, a fire department initial report showed.

I think you’re asking the wrong question, would Big business and billionaires like to pay less tax by easily being able to shift it to an offshore safe haven.

I was gonna mention that next time I logged on, along with a few other things. Well spotted too.

Most of the time 10 m stops a ground fire especially if a truck is there, but that fire is crowning and the wind is very strong. Its not stopping for nothing at that point.

That's pretty amazing footage. Doubt anyone would survive in the open. Theoretically, depending on how hot it actually was, the crew should be lying on the floor of the truck wrapped in wet woolen fire blankets with other blankets piled on top. With reflective heat resistant curtains covering the windows if the truck has them fitted.

So they probably wouldn't have seen it either.

Its almost impossible to get that sort of footage.

The Department of Justice announced today that the Chair of Harvard University’s Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department and two Chinese nationals have been charged in connection with aiding the People’s Republic of China.

Dr. Charles Lieber, 60, Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University, was arrested this morning and charged by criminal complaint with one count of making a materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statement. Lieber will appear this afternoon before Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler in federal court in Boston, Massachusetts.

Yanqing Ye, 29, a Chinese national, was charged in an indictment today with one count each of visa fraud, making false statements, acting as an agent of a foreign government and conspiracy. Ye is currently in China.

Zaosong Zheng, 30, a Chinese national, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2019, at Boston’s Logan International Airport and charged by criminal complaint with attempting to smuggle 21 vials of biological research to China. On Jan. 21, 2020, Zheng was indicted on one count of smuggling goods from the United States and one count of making false, fictitious or fraudulent statements. He has been detained since Dec. 30, 2019.

Absolutely, naive would be the term I would use. I don’t think there’s anything nefarious at play. the guy obviously picked up a nice big cheque, to help a couple of other scientists develop a research institute.

I think the key take away is it’s Wuhan University. The Chinese were busted doing the same thing with the Canadians, same uni.

i think we are just reaching it in this area however fortunately west gippsland has had a remarkably wet season so far and i dont think we are going to get such a major event this year like the bunyip fires of last year and the bunyip, delburn and chirchill fires of 09. 2mm in nilma north gauge again last 24hrs.
