Sorry but Gerard Whately already has that market monopolised.

Ahhh.

Now I can see why these "deposits" are conveniently packaged in "straws".

Every few weeks when ratings are flagging he assembles them into a man and writes an opinion piece about it.

You can see why so many issues leave a bad taste in his mouth.

yet as i have experianced recently personally all levels of government make it extremely difficult for small scale artisan farming to to exist let alone be viable. we are just getting into a year of taking over our land and have only just got through the red tape to actually let a contract out to build a track, dam and pad to place a machinary shed on. you really have to wonder just who the authorities are set up to support.

if only local councils were as efficient as approving permits as they are at pushing their 1st rate notice out!

I hear you koshari, the system is pretty backwards here too, from what I have experienced. I used to live in a fairly rural part of British Columbia, and I forged some good relationships with a few of the local butchers who'd sell me organ meat and bones for all my fostered rescue dogs. A couple of them had their own small slaughter operations that served the local ranchers. As far as I could tell, these guys knew their stuff backwards, and all was on the up and up. They also never slaughtered animals where other animals could see/hear it happening. They really tried their best to make it as humane as possible.

The government of Canada though, got it into its idiotic head that all slaughterhouses should be centralised to a few giant government run facilities. Meaning that instead of loading your cow or chickens or whatever into your trailer and trundling 10 miles down the road to a guy you knew, you had to now offload them to govt. hands, subjecting them to horrendously long transports packed together with no water (up to 57 hours is allowed in Canada, in up to 30 degree heat) and have them assembly line slaughtered, terrified, at the government run facilities. The farmers fought it, the animal rights groups fought it ( a rare moment of solidarity between us!), and today we are somewhere in the middle. A gradation of licenses available, depending on where you intend to sell the meat. But in the time between, a lot of people lost their businesses, and it's taken some time to get back up to speed with having the little guy available again.

Governments should be doing everything in their power to encourage and aid small farmers, in my opinion. Our entire economic system needs to be restructured from the ground up so that producing and selling locally grown food is encouraged and rewarded. Sadly, we're still far from it, toiling away under the old Captains of Industry. We're going to kill our planet this way. We need to shrink the economy, not expand it.

i agree but it will be like trying to put the genie back in the bottle.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate ME on finally reaching 10,000 posts. It's only taken 19.5 years and a whopping 1.4 posts a day to reach this milestone.

A massive effort on my behalf. :D

" The People’s Leader Commanding the decisive battle "

State media claimed Xi Jinping visited patients directly, noting where he lauded medical workers as “ the most beautiful angels” and “messengers of light and hope "
“All prevention and control measures taken by the CPC Central Committee against the virus are to prevent more people from being infected and save more patients’ lives,” Mr Xi said.
He spoke to a coronavirus victim who was in bed wearing striped pyjamas, with two healthcare workers in hazmat suits at his side.
“You should build your confidence, we should together build our confidence, and together we will win this war,” Mr Xi said. “Wuhan must win, Hubei must win, and the whole of China must win.”

Straight outta the KIM family speak book 😄

The US gets to choose from Trump or a guy with obvious dementia/Alzheimer's advancement.

What a great pair of choices..

Reminds me of 2016. The DNC would rather lose to Trump then have someone like Bernie who wants money out of politics and can’t be paid off.

This will almost certainly be Bernie's last run. I wonder who will pick up where he left off? Or will he just be a flash in a pan and we go back to nothing but establishment hacks for good?

Far more knowledgeable people then me have addressed this. However, It’s no coincidence that the least liked by the Republican Party won in 2016. Bernie is the last person the DNC want as head of their party. America has had enough of the oligarchy.

Edit, to answer your question, yes it’s Bernies last run, but there’ll be someone else to pick up on the movement. He has a young base. Young people are always at the forefront of change

trump isn't part of the establishment....DNC too well entrenched to listen to what people actually want.

This is lost on me, sorry mate.

2008 Brownlow I think.

Michael Voss managed in one night of MC'ing to turn his public perception from "gun player" to "Dangerfield level w***er".

Rambled on seemingly improvising about Robert Harvey while mainly talking about himself and then naming and demonstrating his own "Robert Harvey Shuffle" a couple of times.

If you ever want a reminder that we're actually a small country with shitty media that was a good event to watch.
