Incorrect. That's just the narrative you push.

Some people can condemn the bad and applaud the good. All the while understanding that all politicians are scum and liars. Not everyone pops out of the woodwork just for the negative...
Hey!

Good to see you back :thumbsu:

Just another example of how low a human the man is.

And people on this thread used to pump his tyres and genuinely support him. I wonder how they react to this. Blindly, I suspect.

You’re better than this.. show me the playbook on pandemics? Where does one learn such things?

And whatever your opinion of Trump is, blaming him for this is beyond stupid.

It’s not even a matter of defending him, it’s the fact that people are unable to provide a balanced assessment. I’ve watched that video and for the life of me I cannot fathom what VK is on about & the tweet calling him a coward... Jesus. What is he supposed do? 3 years later, ‘we’ are still looking at every word, every facial expression, every misstep like it’s the end of the world.

This isn’t directed so much at you LTK, but surely you accept if everyone was looking at every word, every email and every thought that there would be a few mistakes made by anyone... doesn’t matter who you are, if a Policeman follows you for 500km, you’re eventually going to break the law.

I’m my opinion, the only really terrible thing he has ever done, something that I can’t forgive is driving a golf cart on the green... outside of that I maintain given the spotlight and the disgraceful manner in which he is treated - he has done a pretty damn good job.

In that video Trump sold one of his underlings down the river and refused to accept responsibility for his decisions.

It is shithouse leadership from a gutless CLINT.

HE is questioned about one decision he made - closing the pandemic office - and his response is a disgrace. Whatever his politics that is weak and he is a dog because of that decision alone.

I don't like the Dumb****orats or the The Recampaignerlicans and on balance ... The world is possibly a bit safer cos Hillary wasn't elected and didn't push a war with Russia... Well that's what I thought several years ago anyway...

But that is gutless. If you had a leader like that on a battlefield you'd shoot him with an enemy weapon in combat.

When you lead people they are your highest priority.

You don't eat till they have all eaten, you don't get water till they are hydrated and you are the last person into safety.

That's just how it is.

That was shit.

A different US president, dunno who, maybe Truman had a sign on desk saying

The buck stops with me

Trump probably has a pile of US $1 bills to give his people when they come work for him.

It wasn't a good moment. Of course it wasn't. Not the end of the world and hardly worth the continual beat-up. These leaders are apparently expected to be experts in every single field these days and if they make one misstep it's magnified x100.

They are humans and they are basically learning on the fly at the minute - whilst continually getting thrown under a bus because hindsight is 20/20.

They've been asked to give a press conference every 4 hours and if it isn't at the right level of panic = underselling it. If it's too much panic = "come on, a leader is supposed to create calm and not get everyone worked up...". Saying "Chinese Coronavirus" or "foreign virus" is apparently racist and xenophobic as is threatening to close off borders.

Hell even WHO were worried about feelings before it all took a turn:

All of which is completely irrelevant to the point being made (but the usual grandstanding from you - FFS, we can all cut and paste in an attempt to look clever).

In his usual ignorant way, he made an appalling decision that has serious public health implications. If that's the only issue here, then perhaps people would reluctantly accept it since, yes, all decision-makers make mistakes.

The issue is the way he reacted, first attacking the questioner and then denying he did it, then throwing his colleagues under a bus (many of whom no doubt pleaded with him not to disband the committee), then the pathetically low-brow "we're doing a great job". That last bit is insulting in the context of the error made.

Anyway, my point was specific: this is yet another example of him being a low human. The point stands.

No just low. ****ing stupid and ill prepared as well.

His government shut down an office of the NSA in place to monitor and manage pandemics.

Pandemic breaks out, his first reaction should have been "Whoops, need to prepare for potential questions about this, and figure out a response that seems like I'm in charge and know what I'm doing, and that we are on top of this outbreak because of the changes made when closing down that department.".

Instead we get "Hey buddy, what are they talking about? Did you shut that shit down? I didn't do it, not my fault, who cares anyway".

What this shows is that he is not just cowardly, but that he is ill prepared for any public office and has no idea what he is doing when it comes to actual public policy and their impacts. But hey, if people like him because he is a slap in the face to the Libtards, good on 'em.

The only irrelevance is the cheap shot you make in passing suggesting others forgive him all the time which is a blatant lie. The only certainty in these threads is people like you, Sopwiths, TOD, Chadwiky and co. won't say boo if things are okay or good but then froth at the mouth when you have a chance to throw him under the bus.

You forgot Barmah Forest virus, Hendra and Marburg, none of which have resulted in racist, fear driven attacks on Germans or Syrians Queenslanders. Even tho one of them killed a Victorian train network.

That might have had something to do with it (tho personally I agree it was stupid to avoid naming it after Wuhan for the same reason most viruses are named after their place of outbreak, origin or someone who caught the virus initially.)

None of your rant has anything to do with Trump's shitful leadership in that instance.

That was ****ed.

And honestly we don't know enough about this yet to say with certainty that it isn't the end of the world.

You had those mushrooms didn't you...you crazy bastard!

And in terms of odds I'd say they're lower than your chance of dying from COVID19 (mine is slightly higher than yours) that the world will end, or more realistically there will be a wholesale breakdown of Australian society, but who knows how this will play out around the world yet.

Last time I had those things we played Freo in r1 later that day...

So who forgot to check Brad for that before Round 1?

People have to remember when you combine whatsapp, twitter, and facebook users you have 3.69 billion in total (obviously not individual people given the overlap of multiple accounts etc.). We are facing a time where EVERYTHING is worse than it previously was. Naturally, with all the news available at the tip of our fingers, 24/7 everything is going to sound far worse than it really is. People need to account for that variable.

Consumption has changed.

2003 (Sars) - No facebook, No whatsapp
2009 (Swine flu) - FB had 150 million users
2014 (Ebola) - Whatsapp had just 450 million users

I'm not comparing the severity of each just that it's easy to get carried away when you hear about it 24/7 and people/companies/politicians have an interest in downplaying/overselling panic.

For some reason whenever I watch AOC I want to eat Latino.
****ing pig!!!

I'd let her come over and make me a drink or two. Maybe some dancing like nobody is watching. Then she can call me any name she wants (I won't be offended). I'd even pay for her uber the following morning so she isn't responsible for CO2 emissions. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a strong-willed woman with a fire burning inside. The human spirit is a beautiful thing!

Back to your best...

I still think the loaded question was purely intended to make him look bad. Which, according to my set of twisted values recuses him of treating the questionnaire with any respect. Of course people will always see it differently and judge by their own set of values and that should be encouraged but and I mean BUT, any sane person after 3 years of these, essentially anti-democratic cretins undermining every action, every good deed or bad which of course isn’t an issue, but after 3 years of that - I’m happy enough with the way he responded to her. I certainly understand the shirtiness and ridicule and disdainful tone.

It my eyes, it was a not so subtle “pipe down bitch”, and I hand a few of them out myself. And quite enjoy it on occasion.

As for the throwing under a bus - I have no real issue with that, the incompetence of that person shouldn’t be erased from public discourse just because a normal person would have possibly answered it differently under optimum circumstances / hindsight. I thought he was just being honest, it was refreshing. A normal politician would have a acted and lied his way through the conference (easy fixes Brad etc), but not Donald. I quite enjoy his version of presidency.

People have short memories, George W was an utter nunce, a complete moron and war monger. Any chance to let off a few rounds, he was there on Red Alert. I take the golf playing, sometimes inappropriate philanderer sticking it to the political establishment any day.

There is a certain enjoyment to be had from the fact that after more than forty years Tarquin Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim-bus-stop-F'tang-F'tang-Olé-Biscuitbarrel and Jethro Q. Walrustitty have been elected to lead two of the most important countries on the planet. It’s a long way from Luton and Leicester to the White House and 10 Downing Street. Who among us did not dream of such an eventuality in our youth?

Mate, he's a politician, so yeah, the bar is low in terms of what we should expect of him.

But he's a despicable human being, which is my main gripe. You can basically use any topic as an illustration. Golf, you say? Get a load of this:

TL;DR - he insisted on secret service protection whilst playing golf at his course, and his business charged them ~$90k in fees for being on the course.

Re the bolded. I've seen it before more than once and been the one who it was done to as well on another separate occasion...

Ie. Someone with the responsibility for a decision and who made it goes to water then blames someone underneath them, who carried out their instructions, for the actual decision when they are called to account for it.

Its shitful. There is no quicker way to lose peoples loyalty imo.
