The former president didn’t do this? Ummm, look at his golf, look at how much was played at Andrews Air Force Base and Fort Belvoir. Both military courses, reducing the cost to taxpayers, and both near DC, so he didn’t have to leave the White House.

You don’t have to defend everything Trump does, you could just concede that he probably plays his own courses to benefit himself.

Nobody is denying all Presidents play lots of golf and cost a bomb, but only Trump does it like this.

As you say.

Popping out the hypocrisy of some isn't defending. It's called highlighting hypocrisy and providing balance to a very one sided echo chamber.

Believe it or not people can do that without only focusing on the negatives or variables. Or popping in with cheap shots. Or "i don't talk about trump but when i do i just like to point out the gaffes"

Also, a lazy "lock at this" proves little in the way of constructing a point. If one has golfed 114 times and the other 330 the net spend could still be far more.

The point isn't who golfed more, the point is Trump uses taxpayer cash to enrich himself when golfing.

Only, I'm not outraged. I very rarely post on Trump.

I pointed out that he is a low human being (i.e. a fact) when there was yet another particularly salient example thereof. The Trump cheerleaders here won't even accept that fact, and make ridiculously narrow arguments (mental gymnastics :thumbsu:) to justify the actions of their man. But it's just trying to defend the indefensible.

Surely you don't think it's OK for someone in public office to have such immense conflicts of interest? Especially given it's clear he's not willing to change, he just wants to make sure he's not held to account by lying and deflecting. I'm surprised there are so many people who still fall for it.

I wasn’t including you in the permanently outraged because I know you aren’t.

I just see it as everyone is on the take and some are better at it than others. But the real kicker is the alternative, how does someone like Hilary, who has spent her entire life in public office have a net worth approaching $250m?

I’m neither a supporter nor a critic of any politician, I just try to keep things balanced and take everyone on face value. I wouldn’t want to work for him, that’s for sure, but with respect to the question of ethics - who hasn’t submitted an expense claim with a bit of mayo attached? Who hasn’t double dipped given the opportunity?

Pure assumptions.

Hats off to Don Jnr and Eric for getting the POTUS to play at their clubs. They must run a good business model at Trump international.

Don Jnr has future president written all over him. I think he'll run in 2032 when Ted Cruz finishes his 8 year term.

And back on ignore you go.

Who would you rather be partying with at 2am Hunter Biden or Don jr?

The ghost of John Cain looks at you with a look that says he's not so much angry as disappointed.

It’s really a bit of a trick question isnt it, with both you’re sitting at the little boys table.
Not really.

One lot has a billion-dollar empire waiting and a brand. Dad is the most powerful man on the planet. And it will be for another 4 years.

The other was discharged from the army for drug use and had doors open up for him because his dad was VP. His dad won't be president and is 79 and showing signs of cognitive decline. Those doors might close for Hunter if more is exposed in the following years.

IMO the difference is like saying: Who would you rather marry: Miranda Kerr in her prime or Jelena Dokic

This whole argument boils down to my daddy is better then your daddy, ridiculous..

What argument? You posed a hypothetical over who would you prefer to hang out with...

Me responding to a stupid hypothetical that I thought was innocent has somehow turned into an "argument"...okay. You been drinking DR?

Jelena would be a pretty decent silver medal!
Depends. She was obese once. You have to be careful with those types. That shows a lack of self-control. You don't want to be looking over at 50 and seeing an unhealthy person.

In saying that she may have done the smart marketing play of getting fat, becoming skinny and then attributing it to Weight Watchers just in time for her book release. If that's the case then I definitely agree because I do find her attractive.

Geez you blokes are boring
Thanks for your opinion that no one asked for.

I often found your continual whiny "woe is me. life is hard" posts back in the day about living in Tassie and going to uni studying a shit degree pretty boring but I never added my two cents. Good to see you've gone from being a whiner to being an entitled whiner.

I was obese twice. 1995-2013, 2015-present.

Also that second part of your post is pretty campaignerish. Mental illness doesn't need to be used as an insult, particularly against such a banal call as "you guys are boring".

You are a frustrating SOB Groin. You could be the most entertaining person on this board but you seem to be unable to resist pushing shit too far. Come on man!

Do you believe that the complete random occurrence of you sharing a similar affliction with regard to someone else, justifies you in censoring an opinion that was not directed at you?

Bit of a hypothetical. Also are you trying to censor my opinion about someone that wasn't directed at you?

No, I think you feel bad about your physical condition, and rather than deal with it, you are projecting your frustration at an innocent bystander.

IMO...........(and I will qualify this by stating it is in no way a professional psychological opinion)..............pity and faux empathy are the last things you need to start mining. Stuffing too many cheeseburgers down your throat is not a "mental illness" either, it's called "undisciplined".

LOL. No need for the qualification! The chances of anyone mistaking your bizarre ranting for professional psychology seem pretty unlikely!

Your information about my physical condition comes from me, so I'm hardly looking for sympathy. It's called taking the piss out of myself and enjoying life. You should try it some time!

I'm lucky enough to have lived a life free of mental health problems. But that doesn't mean I should choose to ignore it when someone trivialises it in someone else. What you walk past is what you accept or whatever they say.

Anyway Groin and I have exchanged enough conversation on here for me to feel comfortable sharing my opinions on his posting with him. I would hope he'd do the same. Good on you for defending his honour though 👍
