Pusey was interviewed by police late into the night on Thursday and is due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this morning on a range of charges, including destruction of evidence and three counts of committing an indictable offence while on bail.

His other charges are for speeding, reckless conduct endangering life, fail to remain after a drug test, fail to render assistance, fail to exchange detail and possessing a drug of dependence.

POLICE ON HOLD AT HOSPITAL
The truck driver who ploughed into the hero police officers was still in hospital on Thursday night as detectives were trying to work out the cause of Wednesday night’s tragedy.

Singh Bajwa’s blood sample has been taken but police said on Thursday night the father-of-two was still unfit to be interviewed.

The chicken truck driver is expected to remain in hospital for several days under police guard.

Immediately following the carnage Mr Bajwa blacked out and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The truckie’s neighbour in Cranbourne described Mr Bajwa as a “good guy” as he opened up about his shock over the horrific crash.

“I’ve lived beside him for 15 years. He’s a good guy, we’ve never had any problems,” the neighbour said.

“It’s a horrible, horrible tragedy and the investigation will find out the answers.

“I just feel sorry for [the family] they didn’t ask for this.”

Victoria Police remained tight-lipped about the driver on Thursday night.

“The driver of the truck has been admitted to hospital,” a force spokesman said.

“He is expected to remain in hospital for a number of days and is unfit to be

interviewed at this time.”

HOW HORROR CRASH UNFOLDED
Police are investigating why a truck veered across three lanes of the Eastern Freeway moments before ploughing into four officers, killing them all.

As tributes flowed for the dead officers, the driver of a Porsche they had pulled over for speeding was charged by homicide detectives on Thursday night.

Mortgage broker Richard Pusey — who allegedly posted photos of the carnage after fleeing the scene — is facing separate assault and criminal damage charges and was once caught on video telling a cancer patient he hoped she would die. The 41-year-old was in custody on Thursday night.

The Herald Sun has been told the refrigerated truck was in the third lane of the freeway before swerving into the emergency lane, striking and killing the four officers. The truck driver, Mohinder Singh Bajwa, remained under police guard in hospital on Thursday night.

The possibility of the smash being deliberate was not being ruled out.

The homicide squad is investigating.

Yeah I know. It’s very sus though. Careering across 3 lanes at exactly the wrong time and not breaking.
I always feel uncomfortable commenting before charges are laid.

The Jill Meagher case on BF is a case in point that illustrated how social media had accelerated ahead of traditional media

If he passed out immediately after the incident there is also a chance he passed out immediately before it.

I’m just commenting on the article. They specifically wrote “The possibility of the smash being deliberate was not being ruled out.” Made me wonder why write that at all?

I don’t remember the Jill Meagher case on bf.

Apart from a very small number of North fans, would anyone be paying attention to a thread on a football forum about something that’s not related to football?

If he's deliberately planned to kill cops - murder - then thinking "Oh I'll just wait until see some by the side of the road and collect them" is an odd way to go about it.

Yeah, he either ****ed up (on his phone for example) or something happened to him, unless something in the vehicle failed (brake related obviously)and he did what he did to avoid wiping out people in the cars ahead of him by heading for the emergency lane, (in which case it might not be his fault if someone else is responsible for maintaining the vehicle.)

I dunno. I'm a bit over speculating. Four families have been devestated by this.

I'm thinking he fell asleep. Reports suggested the truck drifted across 3 lanes rather slowly. Interesting that stretch of the freeway does not have cameras - why the fugg not? How could any square inch of a city freeway not be under camera watch? Vicroads will be asked questions.

The whole situation is odd

Why were the cops letting Pusey have a slash by the side of the road?

Is public urination now allowed?

Obviously we won't be able to ask the cops what happened in the lead up to all this, but yeah, stuff just doesn't add up.

Let's see what else comes out before making any judgements though.

Found it strange to see that scumbag after being arrested wearing a protection mask over his nose and mouth. Would have thought health and safety would be of little importance to someone that drives 140km down a freeway whilst on drugs

The cops could just have likely made him wear it if they are going to incarcerate, as the prison system places new arrivals in 14 day quarantine.

"........... destruction of evidence...."

???

I assume this relates to the saliva test

"............... and three counts of committing an indictable offence while on bail."

On bail for what?

".............his other charges are for speeding, reckless conduct endangering life, fail to remain after a drug test, fail to render assistance, fail to exchange detail and possessing a drug of dependence............."

They have loaded him up about as much as is possible.

Yep. I heard on radio this morning that they are also trying to find a law he has breached under the Telecommunications Act as well. Not sure they'll get anywhere with that.

FYI Connect Logistics have mandatory dashcams fitted to their fleet of trucks.
We will know soon enough what went down in the final seconds before the crash.

Also the dash cam footage of the Patrol Cars plus the rear view footage will paint the picture.
Not sure if this was damaged or not but interesting to see what investigators uncover.

It appears that they clearly have a "personal" agenda, to the point where they may undermine their own case. Keep your eye out for Pusey getting placed in front of a hand selected hanging judge.

Prediction: Dan Andrews will utilise this as another virtue signaling exercise and bring in another swathe of ridiculously far fetched and oppressive laws.

As usual, the common people will be the losers.
