Wrong place wrong time. What a tragic set of seemingly random events. Couldn’t make this up.

Don’t think they can get the Porsche driver for what people are expecting either.

Of course not, the Porsche bloke is unadulterated dick cheese, but there's plenty of his type walking around.

The truck driver had a lapse in concentration at a crucial moment, and a freak event unfolded.

It's an accident.

Thought they can charge anyone who kills someone driving under the influence with murder?
I thought there was a story a few years back of a guy running over his best mate whilst being under the influence? Only got 6 years from memory. Not 100% on the details but I thought it went along those lines.

Yes, I vaguely remember the case, and I think it involved a lady killing her partner who was involved with another woman.

Of course, intent could be proven in this instance by strong evidence and witnesses in the lead up to the event.

Wouldn’t be surprised. This is such a high profile case though. The truckies killed 4 police officers high on ice. Like it or not this is political. He’ll get the absolute maximum available imo

I was referring to the truck driver (meth).

He's going to get 20 years.
It's interesting because the lead is the **** in the Porsche.

Seems to be getting more heat by virtue of his inhumanity in the face of tragedy that he didn't cause.

They'll charge him absolutely everything they can.
He'll go for a bunch of it, I expect the sentence to be publicly considered light.
I also expect once his time is done he runs from Victoria his business will die here and cops are gonna hate this prick forever.

I think you’re right regarding his sentence.

It’s interesting that he’s in protective custody. Wouldn’t imagine hardened crooks be too upset by what he did. More likely to cop it from the guards.

Could he be a snitch? Feels like something strange is going on

Possibly, would think the cops he sent the footage too would be doing what they can to distance themselves from him.

He’ll be in protective custody because it’s such a high profile case . Other prisoners would likely target him based purely on the fact that he’s now quite well known

It's actually about an attack on state power.

Again, I am mindful of the personal circumstances surrounding this situation, but it's beyond dispute that this is scripted completely differently to how it would have unfolded if 4 random people were in the stopping lane taking details from the Porsche clown due to something like car damage.

The same applies to when the police are the alleged perpetrators of a death instead of the victims. The PR approach is chalk & cheese.

No.

This bloke isn't an informant, a rapist, a sadistic thrill killer or someone who has harmed children.

Crims would be indifferent to him.

For anyone interested:

Sick of grid lock? Sick of B-doubles holding you up at lights? Sick of semi trailers taking up all lanes of the road and congesting traffic?

The solution is simple.

Move the majority of semi trailer movement and associated goods dispatch/receiving to the hours between 7:00pm and 6:00 am.

I had dinner with a lady who works at Linfox transport and her opinion was that the industry would welcome the move as they calculated that 25% more freight would get moved during those hours.

Of course, the drivers and dispatch/receiving workers are going to need a decent pay rise (which is overdue for most of them anyway), but the increase in output would negate a lot of the inflationary pressures.

This isn't difficult and only requires to political will to make the decision.

Discuss?

How do you know that he’s not an informant?

I don't "know" that of course, but that was not the premise of my response.

Context Val.
