How is that comment actually "political" tho?

Afaics it isn't. It's not a political position that the invasion or settlement of Australia - ie the Poms arrival - had devestating impacts on blackfellas, it's a historical fact.

It might be a little bit silly, the way try hard white people often are when they try to sound enlightened. But that is about it.

What's the opposite political position? Captain cook never arrived, Europeans didn't bring devestating diseases that were actually worse than this virus and were an unknown killer to boot? At least we're in the position we can understand what is happening and apply strategies to deal with it.

Maybe she should have just mentioned the arrival of chicken pox, measles and other common European illnesses, then we wouldn't have had to put up with some whiney campaigner's tantrum. I doubt it tho. Some people aren't happy unless they have something to froth at the mouth about.
