I don't see why it's a big surprise that anarchists are joining in the excitement. There's probably tons of different angles being played out here

-kids who listened to too much rise against and wanna smash stuff

It's not as simple as a bunch of lefties smashing up whatever they see mindlessly, and a bunch of statist cops scratching their violent itch. There's a lot of shades to this. I think it’s fairly common practice to control the neck, once you hold someone down from there, they can’t do anything. But I would think once the handcuffs are on, they’re pretty much incapacitated so no longer needed.

I think the issue was the time elapsed. Doing it for ten minutes while a guy has handcuffs on is probably like playing Russian roulette with someone’s life. 90% wouldn’t do a thing but it’s the other 10% is the worry.
