In the national guard there are around 450,000 servicemen in 54 different organisations. Are you talking about one of those organisations going rogue?

In the US army there are 885 generals "roughly" 1 general for every 1500-1600 men, these men have been groomed all of their lives to adhere to the structure and put their nation first and their commander in chief is the president. The US army has around 1.3m in active service. There would unlikely ever be an insurrection because going rogue would pretty much put you at odds with the rest who would see you as traitors. From my understanding, officers tend to get shuffled around, there is probably a tighter bond with rank and file and lower grade officers.

It would take a 4 star general to go rogue and I don't think it is realistically feasible, you would likely get outed in the infancy of any such grand scheme. That is not to say the military one day might not find the leader fit to server and remove him from power, however, if that scenario happened, I assume they would temporarily control the government until an election could be called.

Only in Hollywood do you ever see presidents elected that are at odds with the military, the military is a significant political force and I think it would be difficult to get into power in the USA without the support of the military.

Hence the odds I gave.

In a lot of cases, it's cops in the US - this whole disaster has illustrated how high is the number of shit humans in the police ranks in the US. But I'm not against all US cops because they don't all engage in poor behaviour.

I hear ya, but this is he old "good nazi" argument. Sure, there were decent honorable men in the Wermacht caught up in accidents of geography and birth.
