Interested to get the thoughts of others around here on the resumption of the season . I’ve followed north since I was born and was lucky enough to grow up in the glory years of the 90’s . I used to watch every game on the weekend but I just don’t have the same passion for it anymore. I refuse to listen to or watch any football coverage of [/]that doesn’t include north . I will continue to buy a membership and attend every game but to me the games just become big business in which every decision is based around money . I despise the footy media and miss the days of only a few football commentators. I know it’s a very pessimistic outlook and was hoping someone might be able to inspire some positivity in me because sadly I’m not missing football and even less so the return of the game I once loved

That’s all cool, B. There are lots of things in life that I was once passionate about but have no interest in now. Rod Stewart comes to mind, for some reason. On the other hand my attachment to North and AFL hasn’t wavered in the least. However, I can completely understand somebody losing all interest. Practically all elite level sports have gone down the same road as the AFL. Gaelic football and hurling are the only ones that haven’t that I can think of. The VFL & VAFA is always there if we need to relive the past. Unfortunately, the very best players ate not on show there.

You've pretty much summed up my feelings towards footy these days. It's totally over hyped and over analysed. And I absolutely agree re commentators. It used to be a case of quality over quantity. Not any more.

I still absolutely love North and always will, but can't get excited about watching non-North games. I'd literally rather watch Gardening Australia and Netflix on a Friday night than the so called 'marquee' match of the round if North isn't participating, which we usually ain't because we aren't considered a big enough revenue generator for the automatons at AFL House.
