Kangaroos4eva yeah I totally agree, more surprised about financially we are more as we have quite a small defence force compared to most in that list (like 60,000?)

More thinking about it from a purely population side of it I guess
Types of equipment too.

We have to buy a lot more support and landing ships, as well as long range transport, because of the local/regional maritime environment. Ships and aircraft are bloody expensive.

It is hard.

If it is an injustice we can fix, then great, but if there is also macro-level stuff we can’t change. For example, the article highlights how many get jobs as a result of parent connections and others miss out. In my situation, my disabilities limit my job field considerably. I have largely accepted my life’s restrictions and conditions after it contributed to me losing my dream job. Bitterness is hard to overcome and it can lead to life being much harder than it needs to be.

I understand the bitterness of those affected by racist policies in the past and it is warranted by those who endured it. African-Americans and the indigenous people’s that have been affected by colonial and racist policies in the past. It is even worse for Aboriginals. Their entire kinship, social and spiritual systems were effectively destroyed. It is a lot harder to generate a proud identity and achieve reconciliation as a victim for those that experienced it.
Take pride in your identity, culture and the injustice that we can fix, but acknowledge that not every problem can be solved and be realistic about the world as positively as we can.

Man, I write a lot of platitudes.
It's not in the past. It's ongoing.

This song is nearly 20 years old, and what's changed? Well things are worse, that's about it.

We’ve never fully gotten over our invasion complex. A lot of it has to do with:
- Australia’s active regional role, which requires boots on the ground and who are expensive to sustain.
- By contrast, Canada has the large US military just next door, so they don’t have to invent as much. They also don’t do much outside a bit of peacekeeping and home defence. - -- The US defences in Alaska especially means that Canada has less to worry about.
It also has to do with what happened to black fellas when we got here.

Deep down we know to expect the same thing if something happens.

The irony of aboriginal names on western civilisation war machines is not lost on me.

In today’s age you don’t need a big defence force, you need an educated one. Much prefer drone pilot vs a grunt these days.

Apparently there’s some pretty damning footage to come out from the body cam of the cop who shot Rashard Brooks in Atlanta. Rumours that the cops waited ages to call some help for him, even that one of them kicked him or stood on him after he was shot. The cops also knew that the taser he had was useless as it had already been fired. Evil as **** if true. No wonder they’re facing charges

We’ll see then.

Wouldn’t be this then showing them commencing cpr. The kick was them kicking the taser away according to some. They are facing charges from a dodgy DA, who is facing his own troubles, before the investigation was complete. The investigators weren’t even told, but they were determined to finish their job. Happy to see new footage to determine either way.

I don’t know mate. I’m just repeating what I’ve heard. Between the body cam, the civilians filming and the cctv footage there should be enough evidence to get it right.

If you’re commencing cpr and there’s video of it, then I have doubts about the version you described. But I haven’t seen the aftermath footage, so it may have happened pre-cpr, which is strange to me if so.

Think it’s a few things. The taser had already been fired so it’s useless once Brooks got it and they took almost 2 minutes to call for help.

The only bodycam footage available cuts out when the cop walks off to grab the breatho.

I’m guessing the fact the cops been charged speaks for itself anyway.

Jefferson, Washington and Grant statues have been pulled down in some cities.

No it hadn’t, he took the taser they hadn’t been fired yet. That’s why Brooks turned and fired the taser and then the shooting cop dropped his taser and grabbed his service weapon.

Also, it was the other officer’s unfired taser that Brooks stole, according to the defence lawyer, so grain of salt and all that. https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www...c3a6ae8e-b0c5-11ea-bb7b-5f2794513af0.amp.html

They attempted to leverage him to the ground while giving him loud, clear verbal commands. In response, Mr. Brooks continued actively resisting lawful efforts to arrest him. He then escalated his resistance by punching Officer Rolfe in the face committing several counts of felony obstruction of an officer. See O.C.G.A. §16-10-24. In an effort to place Mr. Brooks under arrest and stop his assault, Officer Rolfe lawfully deployed his TASER twice, but it had no effect on Mr. Brooks.

Mr. Brooks continued his assault and disarmed Officer Brosnan, stealing his city-issued TASER committing a robbery, another forcible felony under Georgia law. See O.C.G.A. §16-8-40 & O.C.G.A. §16-10-33 . Mr. Brooks, then armed, began running through a crowded parking lot. Mr. Brooks was lawfully under arrest and Officer Rolfe pursued him. Officer Rolfe had deployed his taser and held it steady in hopes the prongs would catch onto Mr. Brooks body and neutralize him. Unfortunately, that didn’t occur

Instead of merely trying to escape, Mr. Brooks reached back with his arm extended and pointed an object at Officer Rolfe. Officer Rolfe heard a sound like a gunshot and saw a flash in front of him. Fearing for his safety, and the safety of the civilians around him, Officer Rolfe dropped his taser and fired his service weapon at the only portion of Mr. Brooks that presented to him - Mr. Brooks’ back. Officer Rolfe immediately stopped firing when Mr. Brooks fell to the ground since there was no longer an imminent threat towards Officer Rolfe or others. Officer Rolfe gathered himself, and then immediately called for EMS. Officer Rolfe retrieved first-aid supplies and began rendering aid to Mr. Brooks. When Mr. Brooks’ pulse stopped, Officer Rolfe immediately began CPR until EMS relieved him.

No it really doesn’t speak for itself. As I said, the DA didn’t even wait for the investigation to conclude and made a political decision, despite facing serious legal troubles of his own.

As I said, I rather see the rest of the footage before commenting on the stuff you raised.

At what point are people going to say this isn’t about BLM and about destabilisation.

did you end up watching the Adam Curtis HyperNormalisation docco?
Yes, very interesting. Probably raised my questions than answered them. I’ll have to do some more background reading on this stuff.

The eye whiteness on the scene are all in agreement.

Nothing new in terms of footage that has been floating around, but it is just complied together differently agg bc d it is missing a lot of the body cam footage.

Didn’t see any evil kicking, but I’m watching the small dimensions on a phone, so I may have missed it. The only thing I didn’t see is the time elapse for the call-in for the ambulance. They checked for a response first by the look of it, where he raised his arm, and then one of them pulled a radio off his shoulder to call it in after a short duration. Then CPR, which included the cops getting gloves and co, followed this when the pulse stopped.

Mostly lines up with the defence attorney’s statements looking at everything.

Nah no kicking or standing on him. Like I wrote, I had heard a few things, it was even mentioned on JRE by Jamie. I posted on here without doing my own digging.

The cop has been charged with murder so maybe that’s why it’s hard to find the crucial footage?

We still have a ton of footage, including the shooting. The CCTV and most of the body cam footage has been released.

Glad we can agree that there may be more and it is not clear cut. I thought I missed something. My eyesight is not great. It was apparently an out of context freeze frame that floated around, but got disproved quickly.

The Floyd one is much more cut and dry.

This Atlanta bloke is facing the death penalty, so let’s hope we get this perfectly right before another person potentially dies. The local department in Atlanta had a mass walkout, blue flu it is called.

Mate I’ve flip flopped around on this one a lot. This is nothing like the Floyd case. Yep that one iscut and dry. This one isn’t at all. At first I was saying the cops shot him in the back...then I saw the other angle and he points the taser back and the cop shoots him...now I hear about other footage...it’s a mess.

I just wonder what we’re not seeing? The cops been charged with murder by people that have seen the lot.

The cancel mob has come for Joey Diaz and Joe Rogan now but I can’t figure out what for. Anyone know?

They need a reason?

Try posting something outrageous like..........."I got over it"............and then watch what happens.

I never imagined that when the revoluation finally came it would be led by the mentally ill.

Reminds me of the weak reasons that they used during the purges of the Red Army. Accusations of homosexuality and sexual deviance were common charges.

It’s the problem with today’s society, I should be able to say I 100% support the BLM movement, yet simultaneously say it’s being used as a tool for authoritarianism.. it’s a complex issue yet, it’s been oversimplified.

A good place to start your research is a guy called Jared cohen, there’s some gold in Podesta and Clinton emails.
