How are they indoctrinated?
Its called a bachelor of Arts degree (grievance studies/marxist ideology), latched onto by MSM who dont hide their lack of impartiality in reporting. Followed by a larger proportion of the adult population, that mistake the challenge of life on lifes terms and all the feelings that come with it, with oppression, subjugation and inequality. Then the irony with privileged and famous coming in to bat for all the " victims" with a big dose of virtue signalling. Then we change what we teach our children at school, and teach them about the unfairness of our world. Kinda prevent them from becoming accountable adults that take ownership for their mistakes, because, you know the world is oppressive.

All this comes from first world countries, that have never experienced such opportunity, equality and quality of life in history ever!

Cmon, this is a rant. Think about the narrative you’re trying to spin. You’re throwing around terms like Marxism and critical theory and feminism as if there is a hive mind. Look into these debates and you’ll see that’s just tabloid buzzwords. Plenty of critical theorists emerged in opposition to Marxism.

It’s all a bit of academic w***ery. But the way you’ve spun your criticism is used to justify conservative politics.

You're 100% correct.

And right now (in this current climate) those critical theorists are probably judged as "conservatives" too.

........it's not as if many of them arise from the (actual) working class.

This is a middle class indulgence, similar to Fabianism.

Snake you’ve acknowledged you’re ‘emotionally compromised’ by this issue. There is a lot of discussion about this stuff, buts it’s all bluster. No facts.

What?!

Why don't YOU start with micro-analysing your own position?

Okay, I'll offer you the chance to explain yourself fully. Let's not microanalyse and pull on threads any longer. Tell me where the "social change" movement originates, the facets that you support and how it plans to ultimately achieve its goals?

What are you laughing about DR?!

You DON'T think black folks should have their own drinking fountains away from the contamination of white privilege?

FASCIST! :hitleremoji

I got off this exact scenario in September/October last year.

IIRC the website is a bit clunky.
They put a hold on the fine while it gets reviewed.

Fines Victoria is who can review the fine, not vic roads, not even the cop now.

This is the system, you have to work in it.

This is the process I followed to have mine exact same fine reviewed and ultimately altered to a warning.

15 years of on time payment should count for something like this oversight.
Also load a bit of "doing it hard due to Covid" mayo on top bengrina

Yep, yep, yep, and yep.

Everyone who posts in this thread has some level of emotional investment. Admittedly, some more than others, but it's definitely a constant. As an infrequent contributor to this thread, and one who's often doing so just to make a joke, I rank pretty low on the scale myself. But I wouldn't be so blind, arrogant, or disingenuous to suggest that there's no emotional component there. You could discern that purely from the fact that I'm a regular reader of the thread, and by the likes I give to other posters.

Similarly, everyone who posts in this thread (re politics) has a degree of political bias. Even those who like to position themselves as some kind of middle ground pundits. All of us, to some degree, are influenced by emotion, political bias, and the media (and social media), and it's nigh on impossible to gauge exactly to what extent. Takes a special kind of delusion to suggest otherwise.

And Ryz, you're also spot on about the disappointing slide into binary discussion. Political discourse has become less an exchange of ideas, and more about 'winning' and reinforcing partisan lines. And of course social media has actively encouraged and facilitated that.

On a personal level, I'm torn because the partisan nature of political discussion on social media largely bores me, but as someone who has spent most of their adult life studying psycho-linguistics, it's also a gold mine. I genuinely marvel at the extent to which it inhibits self-awareness and introspection in terms of the language people use. To use one of the more prevalent examples, you will regularly have people on social media (and this thread) accusing others of being brainwashed by social media, while constantly peppering their own speech with social media-popularised terms like 'SJW', 'cuck', 'snowflake', etc. I'm sure I don't need to point out the irony in that to anyone.

Look at a more recent example of a social media-popularised term that seems to have currently captured some people's imagination - 'cancel culture'. Use that term to someone who doesn't spend a lot of time on social media and see the confused look you get.

You have people claiming to be open-minded and impartial.....while spending 95+% of their time focusing criticism on one side of the political spectrum. People claiming to be free of political bias and who like to accuse others of perpetuating the (to coin another popular social media term) 'left/right paradigm'.....while spending all their time attacking one side of politics and not the other.

When it comes to people trying to disavow emotional attachment and the influence that social media has had on them, it's a veritable ironyapalooza out there.
Studying psycho-linguistics you must be fascinated by the whole trump phenomenon.
How he can talk directly to people on an emotional level. The guys a failed businessmen, failed reality star, clearly a conman, and probably not a very good one, as I can’t see many people buying a used car off him.
but he can access peoples lizards brain just by telling people what they want to hear/don’t want to hear. it’s almost like emotional abuse, because everytime he says something dumb, people have to jump up and down on the spot three times.

You provide one sentence responses, and want me to reply with a 1000 word response?

I agree, making a claim of indoctrination is bloody hard to prove in a post. My point was it’s a claim that can’t be substantiated and the stuff about arts degree and msm does not support the claim

There are plenty of social change movements. Plenty run counter to others. The conservative populist stuff you support is about social change. The changes I support are about democratic socialism through representative democracy. Pretty conservative really.

This is not what I asked you.

I’m certainly laughing, because in today’s climate, one of those kids will probably read it and thing what a great idea..

I’m also thing the same kid will probably think it’s a good idea to remove the Rosa Parks Sitting statue, because it demonstrates history of oppression and if the kids of America are to be equal, they’ll eventually have to remove the good and bad.
