They wonder why people don’t believe the media

The media isn't just one big thing.

Miranda Devine is basically a troll/political operator.

No comparison with say Nick McKenzie.

On a side note, what’s your take on McKenzie and the ALP?

apart from the fact he’s very good at his job, he had camera footage from inside a campaign office/digital audio phone recordings of ministers. Rudd and Dastyari sitting there, happy to spill the beans.
It was almost like he was kissed on the dick to blow the scandal wide open.

Legit? Are you talking about Pine Gap? I hadn't heard that one before.

There are no nuclear weapons (from any nation) permanently based on Australian soil.

US Naval ships do regularly dock here, however.

What is the point of a nuclear weapon when your longest range missile is 124km?

We are looking to buy some longer range missiles from the USA that have a range of around 370km but these are still basically defensive anti-ship missiles which will prevent hostile ships getting within deployment range of our shore.

The paradox of being able to say Australia has a permanent nuclear deterrent, yet no nukes on Australian soil. US bases are classified as US soil.

and pine gap is a comms/signals base, being in the middle of Oz, It would be to far to to launch an attack from.

The problem is the movement had no leadership which opens up the movement to be taken over by other crews latching on. Highjacking the moment for their cause. Next thing ya know they’re knocking over statues and have racial segregation in CHAZ.

They need clear demands. They need to make sure meaningful improvements are made and actually achieve something. I don’t think black Americans have ever been in the position of strength as right now. They need to make sure they get as much right as possible.

If you live at Pine Gap, how the feck do you pop down to the shop for bread & milk ?
In the middle of nowhere.

Addendum. Just searched on google maps >>>>>>> " no result " ! 🤣

Hang on, knock on the door.......

It doesn't matter if there was a leadership structure, social movements if not authoritarian in terms of control will be taken over by one or morph into it due to corruption, greed, incompetency, etc. It doesn't matter if it is a social movement like BLM, an internet movement or even political movement such as Venezuela, it started off as something on face value to be benign and was even lauded by gullable intellectuals like Chomsky who praised Chavez early on but as the money started to run out and the popularity declined, he turned into an authoritarian monster and there was just one thug after another lined up ever since his death raping the country of what wealth it has while people are starving to death.

It is not just a far left phenomena, libertarian and centrist identitarian movements have also been co-opted by far right groups, nationalists, etc and they shift the narrative to whatever shitty political position they have.

It is the inherent problem with identity movements (be it class, race, religion, nationality, whatever). It is who you are or what you are more than what you want, it is how Antifa can infiltrate the movement and turn it into an anti-capitalism movement or anti-police movement. It was fascinating to watch the Gamergate movement from a few years ago, it had clear objectives and demands, in terms of the journalistic integrity of gaming media. The lack of leadership allowed it to easily be co-opted by far right groups who saw how effective the libertarian/centrist meme warfare was on social media. They swung the movement from being a journalism consumer revolt into an identity politics/anti-social justice campaign. The way it was fought was the blueprint for Trump's election campaign. People wonder why he shit posts on Twitter all the time, it probably isn't even Trump, it is more than likely his PR team trying to continue what worked in the past.

Once you have some form of political power, you do not want to give that up. At the end of the day once you have obtained some power, the only next step is to get more power or die as a movement.

It's only just out of Alice Springs. There are about a thousand workers/soldiers/spies based there.

he is a barn cat so the living arrangement is he lives in the barn (and if he needs to, he goes inside to live while the weather is bad or injured, like in December).

who feeds him or is a trendy Uber Eats type of cat?

100 per cent. It was a perfectly executed hit job from inside and part of what made it so good was them giving it to him.

That's what happens when you're a top shelf journo like him - people come to you with stories.

I always forget. Is Chavez the legit president or the one who the west are trying to legitimise? That situation in Venezuela is a strange one. I’ve heard lots of different takes on who’s and what’s to blame for what’s going on. A lot of ****ery happening.
