I always forget. Is Chavez the legit president or the one who the west are trying to legitimise? That situation in Venezuela is a strange one. I’ve heard lots of different takes on who’s and what’s to blame for what’s going on. A lot of f***ery happening.
Chavez was the legit president till he died.

Maduro(?) is probably the most legitimate, he's the current president and Chavez' successor.

The other campaigner is a puppet for US oil companies.

It's only just out of Alice Springs. There are about a thousand workers/soldiers/spies based there.
I knew the guy who was the traditional owner of Pine Gap. He doesn't like the place.

I also once met a girl who claimed she was on the run from one of those activist raids they used to have where they'd get a bunch of people to jump the fence and run around inside the perimeter. She didn't want to go back to her place cos she expected to get busted so I helped her out with a bed for the night. Dunno whatever happened to her.

Yeah I think so. I wasn't into the cause myself.

They've been protesting there for years. The first one was led by black fella women nearly 40 years in solidarity with the protests at Greenham Common in the UK. But they've never really ended. There was a couple in their 60s arrested a few years ago. Various anti war Christians have protested there over the years. It's not just hippies and ferals.

If you live at Pine Gap, how the feck do you pop down to the shop for bread & milk ?
In the middle of nowhere.

Addendum. Just searched on google maps >>>>>>> " no result " ! 🤣

Hang on, knock on the door.......

It is classed as a hardship post and everything is brought from stateside, Bud beer, steaks, etc

Your man is losing snake. He’s done.
I'm no Trump fan but I certainly wouldn't be betting against him this November. To do so would be to underestimate the stupidity of Americans. A dangerous strategy at the best of times.

Using the word "legitimate" in terms of a Venezuelan leader is a bit of a slippery slope. He won an election after a failed military coup, but as a true identitarian he did what they do best, suppressed the press, manipulated electoral laws to make it almost impossible to get voted out, arrested and exiled government critics and heavily used propaganda in the absence of truth, oh and corruption and crime became rife. It ticked all the boxes of "socialist reform". It is not that the ideals of socialism are toxic, it is that the system makes it easy for a thug to take control of it and anyone with morals who stands up to it becomes "accident prone".

At the beginning he was legitimately elected, the previous president was a piece of shit who embezzled public funds, used the military to brutalise civilians, survived two coup attempts before eventually being impeached. The problem when you use the military to strong arm civilians is they lose whatever nationalistic respect they had for the country and after a certain point when they see corruption benefitting a small handful of thieves and them legitimising it, it is an inevitability that the military leaders think what is it we are getting out of it. Once the military is calling the shots, your country is ****ed.

Venezuela has basically been a fascist military junta in the guise of socialist or communist movement, they have used the same playbook Hitler did with forming a socialist political party which had the vocabulary of socialism but in practice was a brutal authoritarian dictatorship. It is when the paint wore off that it was exposed for what it is. When people say Venezuela isn't true communism or socialism they are right, it never was and never tried to be. The same military puppet masters who pulled the strings of political power to put Chavez into office are the same people who have Maduro in power and it has dissolved the political landscape into a bunch of different crooks backed by different puppet masters, be it military, crime syndicates, the US government, etc.

They did put into place socialist programs, but there have been some amazing articles written which details exactly how the military and government basically come rich controlling the black market while everyone is starving to death.

The only way out of it is for a nationalistic civil war, as horrific as it sounds, you need a movement that puts the nation first and puts a bullet in the head of ever traitor that has destroyed the country. That means a civil war with a militia formed and the existing military disbanded and defeated. They need to basically burn it down and build it from scratch because the people are impotent in the existing system and they have no nation unless they fight for it to exist. The easier option is for everyone to flee to somewhere else which isn't a shithole while they can.

It is the importance of understanding the life lessons, historically speaking, because the west is bumbling down the same path at present and are not learning the lessons that comes from when you destabilise the pillars that have made western society the pinnacle of human achievement. Our system is far from perfect and is capable of significant change, however, you can't let thugs dictate politics, it will just result in more thugs vying for power. The people will always lose out in the end.

Yep, that’s just about the height of it.

Anyone/mods... Any idea what's up with K4e? His profile reads "Cancelled".

Probably got sick of this thread and the shit associated with it on both sides of the political spectrum. It's a never ending, circular shitshow.

I think he felt attacked on numerous occasions and wouldn't surprise me if he pissed off for his own mental well being.

I didn't agree with a lot of his posts but he always was thoughtful in his posting style and didn't resort to childish, abusive crap like some here.
