Young blokes dont need to go syria to get radicalised any more.
There’s was a nice programme called 21st century state craft, a lot of those kids who headed to Syria were being conditioned online.. There’s a lot of Americans who headed to Ukraine to train with the Azov Battalion under similar circumstances. B.Tarrant was among them. So this is 100% happening in the US right now.

But I’ve got no doubt that kid would’ve done the same thing if he came from the 30/40/50/60/70/80/ect... Which is different from above.

Can someone explain why travelling across state lines is an issue with that kid that killed two people. Seen in mentioned numerous times like it's some big deal. Travelling from Victoria to NSW means nothing. Is it not the same in the US?

It can be a federal offence to cross state border to kill someone. Breaking a Federal law may mean you will be tried in federal court and if sentenced will do time in federal prison
It can increase the maximum penalty and lead to the death penalty.

Strictly, from a distance point of view, he appears to have travelled the equivalent of Wheelers Hill to St Kilda.

Doesn't matter how far. Cross the state line and can be time for a very good lawyer.

Is that the equivalent of what this kid did? (Travel like 6 hrs to get there)
1h drive I think
But I was just replying to the remarks of state lines. Distance is not really the relevant factor, if Sydney and Melbourne were separated by a short trip, I'm still not sure how many people would make the cronulla trip in my last example for altruistic reasons

Fairly strongly indicative of intent, no?

You'd have a much stronger defence of your actions if you got caught up in riots in you street or neighbourhood. It takes commitment to your objective to drive that far.

I'm sort of surprised to be explaining this, tbh.

Well, tbh, I would have thought that if someone heads out into the street with an assault rifle, even if you only go 3 blocks away, it's strongly indicative of intent. Was just wondering if the state lines part that many seem to refer to meant there was something more to that.

OK gotcha, fair point. As others have suggested (and you originally asked), there is potentially a bit more going on (in terms of criminal charges) if you cross state lines and commit a crime in the US.

^ Yep. As Tex says "You're gonna need a reeeeeeal good one".

Maybe just in certain circles, but always wondered why the Cruel Sea are not more acknowledged
Some great songs 👍

the brits hold up the white flag, asking Tony Abbott to be an advisor in brexit trade negotiations, being nominated to the House of Lords in the process....
any hope of this being a amicable divorce is now gone, as the human wrecking ball that miley virus sung about is coming.

2020 what a year to be alive...
