Different generations, where as we wouldn’t look twice at the boutique beers they wouldn’t know the taste a Carlton draught
Alas my fav pub in Seymour re-opened on Friday re-vamped as a craft brewery only pub. No CUB product either on tap or packaged. I was disgusted. I'd drunk there for 17 years and told them that I'd bee drinking at their competition 150m down the road.

Yep. That’ll do it.

“Crute comes from a long line of boxers on both parents’ sides,[5] and his parents got him started in Karate at age four and Judo at eight. Crute started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 11,[5] however, it wasn't until he was 12 that discovered MMA.[6] When he was 19, he made his professional debut in the Hex Fight Series in Melbourne, winning with a first round submission.[7]

What’s his background? He’s got the ears of a grappler but punches like a boxer.

Comes from a boxing family but started MMA pretty young. All of his fights were in Melbourne (Hex Series) before getting a go on Dana White's Contender Series.

Yay (with more than a slight tinge of sarcasm)

Went to a mates place once and he asked me to pick up some beers. Turned up with a dozen Melb. Bitter tinnies. They lads told me to pi$$ off and go back and swap 'em for V.B.'s.

Was very sheepish walking back into the Limereck Hotel in Arden st. Publican sneered and exchanged them mumbling under his breath.

There's literally NO ****ING DIFFERENCE.

If you had sat down and started necking them, they would have done the same thing soon enough.

My old man drinks nothing but Melbourne and he reckons since the “tossers” AKA hipsters started drinking it the price has gone up. He drinks it just out of the freezer, one out one in system. Take one out of the freezer to drink, take one out the fridge and put it in the freezer.

That's dedication to icy cold beer :thumbsu:

Ohhh what? Melb Bitter's my fav. That's tragic. VB's for people who just get sucked in by cricket ads.

Love my Melbourne.

Hope your old man's drinking them out of glass, not cans. Nothing better than an ice cold brown trout straight out of the freezer.

I'm also a w***er and love a good Pale Ale.

What's with fruity tasting beers ? Remember years ago someone handing me one that tasted like peaches. Spat it out coz l thought it was off 🥴
Theres fruity styles like belgian beers which are quite sweet, but offset by generally 7 to 8 pecent alcohol, very nice. On the other hand there are the new england style pales with your tropical style new world hop hits, not so much sweet like the bgelgion ones, more like a passionfruit/citris sytle hit. Fwiw, these are the beers i love on a nice warm day. Local styles are stone and wood pacific, 4 pines pacific and thunder road pacific. All lovely drops.

No offence but CUBs main stable of vb, melbourne, carlton drsft and csrlton cold are all pretty ordinary beers, watery from the high amount of corn syrup they use and the superpride hops are way to overpowering. Sure i drank them for yesrs before i discovered there were far better alternatives. If i are drinking a megaswill i would generally prefer coopers, otherwise fosters or boags if i have to have a foreign owned product. And for every bar that dont stock CUB there would be 2 that have exclusivity deals with Asahi (CUBs current owners)

Dee Snider on bruce dickenson.

"While Dee Snider was answering fans’ questions about the best vocalists in the world and revealing his favorites like Freddy Mercury, Robert Plant, and Ronnie Dio, a fan praised Bruce Dickinson and stated that he is the best out of every other artist."

Hard to argue with that, RJD was a pocket sized dynamo.

People forget this is a job. A lot of the hate is fake promotional/marketing hype.
It's hard to hit someone properly if you don't have some anger and dislike channeled in their direction.
