He's not Trump in terms of domestic policy, and I don't think many expected foreign policy to change much under Biden who has a history for hawkishness.

Now's the time for the base that voted him in to hold him accountable and let him know that just because you're not Trump doesn't mean you get unfettered support for cruel actions.

Biden has more in common with the Bolt types. Trump was largely a foreign policy twit, but didn’t start any fresh major conflicts. Certainly raised tensions on a few separate occasions though.

Trump negotiated no peace deals. None of the places that did deals with Israel in the dying days of Trump's administration were in in any form conflict with Israel.

Indeed most had been cooperating with Israel on the DL for years.

Nothing Trump did can compare what Carter did with Israel and Egypt. That was a proper peace deal.

Biden was part of an admin that did the deal with Iran.

I see this stuff as the kind of ratcheting up positions that happens before talks start again.

Iranians killed some Yanks in Erbil to remind the Yanks they can make life difficult for them anywhere in the region.

Yanks bomb Iranian militia to remind them they can hit back anywhere.

Dicks having bee suitably produced and waved around, they can soon sit down and start negotiating again.

Big question is whether the Yanks will simply go back to what they agreed last time or try and bolt new demands on before the sanctions are lifted.

That’s the twit part. He also escalated troop numbers in Afghanistan for a while after the Taliban escalated their attacks. Not to mention the Iran and NATO stuff. Not sure about the drone numbers, but wasn’t quite as bad as Obama.
