which is why i cleared it up for you.You quoted me, so the idea of getting the context is on you.
Controversy is its own form of publicity. We will see the results in due course.I'd say making a big song and dance about how considerate your children's books are is free marketing.
You'll also end up with people snapping up copies of the discontinued books
They aren’t mutually exclusive things.

almost certainly will result in a short term bump in sales,Controversy is its own form of publicity. We will see the results in due course.
One of my many titles according to you, I may have retorted to many of your posts in disagreement over the years but i refrain from making personal attacks. a quality you dont seem to possess evidently. You didn't clear sh*t, you're a goose.
Not speaking for young K here, but I guess his argument is that current cancel culture is a thing that will die out like other attempts at censorship. Not sure I agree, but I hope that it dies out very soon. You didn't clear sh*t, you're a goose.
No you're not.
Discontinued or secondhand market book don’t actually make the publisher any money..I'd say making a big song and dance about how considerate your children's books are is free marketing.

I dont think it will ever dissapear, just reckon it will ebb and flow naturaly as it has historically. fwiw i find the state based censorship being practiced by mobs like the CCP a lot more alarming. Not speaking for young K here, but I guess his argument is that current cancel culture is a thing that will die out like other attempts at censorship. Yeh true, I guess what I'm saying is was the company compelled by the academics or vice versaThey aren’t mutually exclusive things.
ppppffft, big call after your efforts yesterday. He sure as hell doesn't elaborate it very well if that's the case,
I'm done with his inane crap anyway. It's almost always a waste of time.
His arguments are constantly contrary for the sake of being contrary and are built on weak myopic foundations.
You are right in the sense that a lot of companies have looked at the BLM protests and just gone full tilt at trying to cash in by projecting a certain image. Too early to tell if this form of capitalism will work out.Yeh true, I guess what I'm saying is was the company compelled by the academics or vice versa
They would be complicit to their shareholders if they ignored an opportunity to capitalise on the movement. You are right in the sense that a lot of companies have looked at the BLM protests and just gone full tilt at trying to cash in by projecting a certain image. Any idea on the sales figures of these books? We aren't talking green eggs and ham hereDiscontinued or secondhand market book don’t actually make the publisher any money..
Sure they might’ve had a rush to pick up the books before it’s discontinued, but as an American icon, those books never had an issue selling.
They still will be being sold in a generations time, so they are removing a revenue source.

For a while a lot of the titles were on the school readership list, sort of guarantees exposure, secondary school compulsory reading of of mice and men, and the outsiders undoubtedly did well out of school curriculum sales. having said that its a long time since i have graced the classrooms, others with kids would have an idea of the current offerings. How many of you knew any of these particular titles before today?

My kids have a collection of Dr.Seuss books at home. I’ll check them out....and burn the filth!
