What's the go with the Wharf Hotel? North is always shilling after the game it but I've never been there. Worth a beer or two?

Yeah, until the point where it dried up almost overnight (and this was before sept 11 and the invasion of Afghanistan. I got married in 2001 months before 9/11 and it was happening before that.) People used to refer to the "heroin drought". The heroin drought and the decrease in Afghan production are close enough together and the decrease in production happened first, well within 12 months.
From what i've heard the heroin trade in Australia has never been that worthwhile, it was pure and cheap, then the purity dropped and the price went up. This happened within less than a year of the Taliban banning Opium, (whatever year that was, '99 or 2000) and a as far as I know the price of heroin in Europe never spiked in response to the ban.

Umm, what?
Glenn is my favourite journalist. Has actual principles and bravery as a journalist. He is right that these organisations are playing with fire and making things worse.Glenn gets woke culture and why so many people are stuck in a loop..

There is an element of discrediting these movements by association so people who don't trust institutions and alphabet agencies will not trust progressive movements that evolved since ww2 to limit the power these institutions are dedicated to upholding.
Its a form of bad-jacketing of progressive causes - and the point of that is divide and rule.
Whinge about antifa and BLM and you might miss just how much money has gone to corporate power or the richest people in the west during the last decade and a half.

There is such a thing as a grass roots movement. Many you won't hear about and the ones you do hear about will be compromised by any number of competing interests and idiots with their own agendas. The only problem there’s no such thing as a grass roots movement, there’s always a lot of money behind the scenes, these same ngo’s are funded by billionaires. They ain’t stupid and they’d rather you talking about race/gender/religion rather then income equality..
all of this happened after Occupy wallstreet..
Whine to your hearts content - most of it is about what's been done by agent provocateurs and plants like the prick that filmed the shooting in the Capitol Building.Or I could whine about both thank you very much...
I honestly think you are giving shadowy and, sometimes, nameless background actors a bit too much credit for mistrust and the world's ills. There is definitely a noticeable element of bad faith background actors pushing their own agendas and thwarting noble intentions, particularly through the media and corporations, but I think it is a tad overstated.Whine to your hearts content - most of it is about what's been done by agent provocateurs and plants like the prick that filmed the shooting in the Capitol Building.
Give me a couple of days and I'll give you a list of names of individuals who do this shit. I just have to chase it up. And these are people who have been outed as Aps or are highly suspect given their actions etc.I honestly think you are giving shadowy and, sometimes, nameless background actors a bit too much credit for mistrust and the world's ills. You can talk about pure grassroots organisations being led astray, or misrepresented, by agent provocateurs, but not every one of these organisations was noble to begin with. I am, however, glad that you noted that trust in certain organisations is eroded by competing interests and certain individuals that are pushing their own agenda.
Long story short, I think there have been a multitude of mostly internal factors that erode trust of particular organisations and the pursuit of 'progressive policies'.
My bad with the shadowy jargon, I really meant dodgy people who don't like most people knowing what they are truly up to. We have probably discussed them a few times now.Give me a couple of days and I'll give you a list of names of individuals who do this sh*t. I just have to chase it up. As for BLM. Well there was a report released last year that 93% of BLM protests were peaceful. That's because the vast majority of people involved are genuine and sick of the actual oppression visited on poor, mostly black Americans.
This twitter thread is full of video and photo evidence of white people (some dressed like police) committing violent acts while black people who are organisers try to stop them and has countless more eyewitness accounts:My bad with the shadowy jargon, I really meant dodgy people who don't like most people knowing what they are truly up to. BLM is many different things. Multiple organisations, slogans, graffiti tags, general protesters and a couple of ethnomarxist types that preach the fringe CRT concept. The latter also includes the more violent elements of the multi-faction ANTIFA, which isn't a particularly big umbrella of organisations/groups.
A protest can be 1 person holding a sign in the park. 90% of protesters and donors wouldn't even know the original BLM statement or race-centric 'equity' reallocation intentions. Most protesters wanted action and reform as you said, which is proper and just, not weird goals that have nothing to do with justice or equality. This include absurd goals like the destruction of the western-prescribed nuclear family goal that was on the main BLM website, and outlined by organisational leaders and the small number of activist types. When you openly state weird social engineering garbage like that, then it erodes public trust. Culture war stuff turns people off a lot.
The fact remains, that a small number of protests went astray into riots and death (at least 25 according the Guardian, not to mention the amount of injuries and black-owned businesses destroyed, and the surge in shootings following several cities defunding their police in reaction) mostly because of opportunists, individuals pursuing their agendas and the organisations organising the protests having less than noble intentions. The violence and weird goals have primarily eroded trust and support. External provocateur's rank low on the list of causes for mine.

I think the bolded bit is bullshit.

Definitely GG.
Fair enough. I don't know why you'd say and the organisations organising the protests having less than noble intentions. when its clearly not the case. The protest organisers are shown to be trying to act in good faith and stop excess violence in that twitter thread, time and time again. "Opportunists and other individuals" did this but not the cops? Despite evidence of them doing it on that thread and elsewhere. Like the video of cops lining the proposed route of a BLM march with piles of rocks in the hours leading up to it.With all due respect, I mostly disagree.
Most BLM protests and riots consisting mostly of white people isn’t news to me and was not even remotely my argument. Neither is the odd occasion a boogaloo or WS type showing up to sow carnage. Don't disagree about organisers often trying to stop it, but as I said, opportunists and other individuals derailed some of them. Yep, police are the main group going around rioting, you've figured out their master racist plan to discredit the ever so noble BLM... Beyond absurd.
We've had this discussion before, so I don't know why I bother.
