A bit rich coming from a staunch Trumper

Lol, he was the one claiming AOC was some specially selected wonder politician.

It was us pointing out she's just another boring so called left wing politician who will sell out like the rest, right down to the same career path as Dan Andrews and Jacinda Ardern

I get SLF’s article was specifically referring to Australia, but why wouldn’t we talk on a broader, global scale? These are issues being faced across the whole of the western world, for the reasons I mentioned in my previous post - spuds who have previously been on top despite being spuds because of their skin colour and gender not being happy that they’re no longer on top.

I agree that BLM hasn’t had a terrorist presence here that I’m aware of. Not sure what the left wing terrorism they’re keeping an eye on here is, but the article mentioned right wing extremism was 50%, so I assume the other 50% is left wing.

Guys like in your post are laughably weak, they would be the first to go to water if they had to face what our grandparents and beyond had to face during the World Wars.
I'd say there's also "religious extremism", which would fall under a separate category and sub categories. Maybe even animal rights extremists and the like would take up a bit of time.

Not just you.

“Not just” means it is also me. Don’t tag me in anything ever again you sad, pathetic flog. I engaged in a good-faith discussion after you tagged me, despite how you interacted with me the other day, and you accuse me of downplaying terrorism when I explicitly stated multiple times that it was a threat and what I thought was causing it. You are physically incapable of engaging people with different views in good faith. Never tag me again, I’m not interested in dealing with your crap.

Good examples. I’d tend to view religious extremists as rightwing, so I’d imagine that falls under the 50% right wing. I know of vegan extremists that used to break onto properties and let animals out (steal them from farmers basically), but that’s hardly on the same scale as a guy shooting up a mosque.

It's all semantics anyway, a fanatic is a fanatic

I think that you are seeing the division as just 'right' and 'left'. Terrorist threats are not so easily divided, and exist in a much more complicated space that takes in a whole range of local and international issues.

Agreed. Doesn’t matter whether you call them left or right wing, a dangerous individual needs to be deradicalised ASAP. Not just that - they need to understand why these people are becoming radicalized and nip that in the bud. Not an easy thing to do but extremely important because they can cause so much damage.

I’m not seeing it as left or right. I was tagged in a post by a poster trying to pick an argument with me that said that 50% of terrorism was right wing, and I questioned whether that meant the remaining 50% was left wing. I agree it’s semantics, and ultimately doesn’t matter.

cynic in me thinks deradicalisation isn’t on the cards, they’ll do what the kingdom of Saud did after the grand mosque siege and send the crazies off to an armed conflict somewhere…

just thinking if there’s any on the horizon anywhere in the world..

When you’ve got dangerous and violent members of society that you don’t know what to do with, just give them a gun and point them at some “enemy”. Sad but a lot easier for a government than trying to help fix people and find root causes to complex issues.

Fair enough. I think that ASIO's report highlights that terrorism isn't predominately the domain of the usual suspects.
I agree that education and rehabilitation are important.

They have to be the perceived ‘enemy’ to start with.. also what comes first the conflict or creating the soldier boyz?

I remember I spent fking 4 hours to literally 4 fking AM, arguing on a north Facebook page with another fan that trump is gonna loose the election lol

PPP coincidence or we’re they conditioned on fb prior?

I think you’d be giving some pretty average governments way too much credit in suggesting they planned the rise of social media and its impact on nutters. They’d definitely turn it to their advantage were a war to come along though. They don’t plan, but they’re deadly opportunistic.

you are correct about term governments… incorrect about everything else….
