Bernie and AOC are both democratic socialists. Biden is a small target and can push the focus on to the giant **** up that is Trump though. To win the election it makes sense, well until Wednesday when it might not make sense.

I'm not denying the obvious fact that Trump supporters are more militant. They're just less numerous than non Trump supporters. He knows it too, i.e. suppressing voter turnout, methods and tallying.
