Yeah i agree. Would have been harder to atroturf the original tea baggers with a few of the 1% facing serious consequences. It was one of the things that cost Obama credibity imo. It certainly did with me.
History isn’t going to be kind to Obama, and Bush.

That's not going to do sh*t.

Thing that makes the GameStop situation so terrifying for the elite is the way it showe4d their own system can be used against them.

Their only response was a hysterical overreaction that proves the are full of sh*t.

Need more of those.

Or a general strike lol.

It’ll be good to see which way the politicians go on this. People will learn a lot from whose silent.

That was from 2019 apparently, about Elizabeth Warren proposing a new wealth tax: https://elizabethwarren.com/plans/ultra-millionaire-tax

That tax proposal was so unfair to the rich

The result is an extreme concentration of wealth not seen in any other leading economy. The 400 richest Americans currently own more wealth than all Black households and a quarter of Latino households combined. According to an analysis from economists Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman from the University of California-Berkeley, the richest top 0.1% has seen its share of American wealth nearly triple from 7% to 20% between the late 1970s and 2016, while the bottom 90% has seen its share of wealth decline from 35% to 25% in that same period. Put another way, the richest 130,000 families in America now hold nearly as much wealth as the bottom 117 million families combined.

The Ultra-Millionaire Tax taxes the wealth of the richest Americans. It applies only to households with a net worth of $50 million or more—roughly the wealthiest 75,000 households, or the top 0.1%. Households would pay an annual 2% tax on every dollar of net worth above $50 million and a 6% tax on every dollar of net worth above $1 billion. Because wealth is so concentrated, this small tax on roughly 75,000 households will bring in $3.75 trillion in revenue over a ten-year period.

Do you know any good coders? This is a real opportunity.
Problem isn’t the coders, there’s a whole subcontinent of trained people you could hire.. the issue is you’d need a brokers licence.. which could take years.

there’s an app called stake, specifically for Australians trading on the US, even automatically fills out your W-8BEN tax form.

It has its purposes, but its overuse has lead to ‘problems’.
What happened with Gamespot sucked, and is the way these campaigners do business. Its definitely predatory. A good chance those businesses will fail anyway that is true but driving them to the wall like that helps destroy what little local economies the US has left. Each of those stores is a business that employs more than one person, not including the store/business owners. Every time you take one of those things out of a town or city its another nail in the coffin of local finance.

This is why I'm always saying the only reason for government is to protect the general population from the market.

Ok so far I’ve got AOC and Sanders calling out Wall Street. Anyone else?

Ted Cruz tried to agree with AOC and she put him in his place.

As a liberal conservative, I have hated the rapid decline of small businesses in the west. I do not hate large corporations and we do need them, but we also need to help small businesses against larger predatory actors that act in bad faith.

There will be a way around that, just gotta find it.

Its funny cos I have been thinking about this very thing and how to promote it over the last couple of months. Genuinely thinking something needs to give. That we need to find a way to **** these bastards up because its almost a tipping point where things will move towards feudalism again. Too much private debt. The biggest issue was getting the access to funds but I never thought of crowd sourcing it the way those WSB pricks did. Should have been obvious I guess.

This is an opportunity tho. The power of the internet is that it can level the playing field at times. Its what Assange did (to a point) a decade ago, just in a different field. Facebook, Twitter and other social diseases have kind of made us forget about all that I reckon.

It would be great if we could all become moderately wealthy/well off (enough that we don't have to worry about too much in the future) by bleeding these campaigners dry.

Dude has just marked himself.
The sad part is, dude's like Leon have been so insulated from normal society for so long that they can't possibly understand the absurdity of comments like this.

He'd also be certain, that when the shit hits the fan, he has full political backing across all levels of government and it's essentially business as usual.

Comments like these can be made with total impunity and consequence free.

Yeah, until one random 'Falling Down' guy makes it his mission to send a message.

****, you can see how this shit plays out over time.

Obvious rorting, corrupt activity gets the ok from govt and the rich get richer.

Average peeps get ultra pissed off in an already volatile society.

Permanent fencing around government institutions

Randoms start taking out hedge fund managers

New laws passed to monitor and prosecute all types of 'insurrectionist' activity deemed financial terrorism

More fences, more security, more disparity.

Dystopia.

Yep, this is probably going to be bad advice but we could always roll on the coattails of wsb, they’ll have a lot of new followers now. Probably enough to shift the market.
it’s basically what rene rivkin did years ago, as long as you don’t hold on and just take small wins, you could make a bit of money..
but you’re trading in junk stocks, so potential to still lose a lot..

trickle down absolutely works.. we’ve just been concentrating on the wrong thing, instead of crying poor me, join a group and eat the rich..
this was the guy that identified the big sqeeeze 6 months ago..

Its one thing that has shat me about the LNP. All their talk was about small businesses when I was younger but they've done very little to keep small business functioning. These days big corporates are so big that any successful small business gets targeted after a certain point.

And in that sense not all large corporations are bad but large financial ones are dodgy as. The way they create financial products and then sell them back and forth increasing their "wealth" on the back of moving paper or numbers in accounts is flat out ****ed. Its not wellth as in society gets well or healthy, its wealth as in it leaves weals behind. Unlike Ford or GM, or even Hollywood businesses, they didn't build their position on the back of innovation, creating physical products (or even experiences for people) that made human life better or even just more bearable. Even generic "evils" like "Big Pharma" have that basic idea as their tree of raisins...

They sell products humans use to improve their quality of life.

What is that Shirley Bassey song..."History repeating"? It won't be a matter of if the hammer falls, but when.

It's no wonder traditional media outlets have been tip-toeing around this topic at this stage.

Their ultra capitalism ethos works on the growth bubble and the bubble has just about maxed out.

That excellent podcast you posted earlier pretty much nailed it. Governments have been failing their duty to the whole of society and when that happens the underclass always revolt.
