There are members of our and every community who do not feel safe because of what their name is, where they are from, what religion they carry the faith in. And in the States there is a community of conspiracy believing nutcases who are ready to activate their beliefs into the real world, or at least threaten to do so. And in a country where obtaining military grade automatic weapons is almost as simple as shopping online.

This clip points out the daily abuse and threats those in public office receive. Especially those whose sex, gender, skin colour or religion triggers hate filled nut jobs online. AOC was in a position where she felt threatened because rioters, likely consisting of some who had directly threatened her life, were active in the area in which she was located. If she wants to get all emotional about it, then fair enough imo.

I’m on the fence with this one. It’s hard to figure out if shes just using it for political leverage or if she’s being 100% genuine, or then I think both those things can be true. I just don’t trust politicians. Especially after she’s been shown up as lying about other things.
