Is Seedsman out?
Not formally because nobody wants to be the first capital G Gay Player.

Can't imagine why when you see what the likes of Lumumba cops for arcing at being called Chimp.

Suggestion is Seedsman had/has an offer on the table to do an exclusive interview running into the realms what the top 20 players in the league make each year
Erm... Yeah, don't think you're right on this one, mate.

The lesbian stuff emerged on bay 13 with the Pies posters a few years back. They said "it was because of his haircut".

It emerged from Nathan Buckley.

Great post and pretty much where I sit too.

That's the thing with these kind of issues. There needs to be context, there needs to be nuance.

It is also interesting how the whole Paul Seedsman thing hasn't been part of this - Lumumba sticking up for Seedsman after Buckley gave Seedsman the nickname Lez, which Lumumuba took to be homophobic bullying (Seedsman being a gay man).

Buckley escaping the blow torch is pretty interesting.

He's been just as much part of the shitty culture as McGuire.

I just don't think we reliably have a lot of the context around Lumumba's allegations. Allegations are just that, allegations, and they are flying from all directions with quite high stakes involved for all parties at this stage. The higher the stake, the higher the incentive to bullshit. Collingwood might have just been treating Lumumba with kids gloves for the sake of their own PR up until now, and it might turn out that he hasn't been completely honest. Or Collingwood and the people involve might have acted as bad or worse than Lumumba has publicly claimed and they've been relatively hands off to try not to antagonise him. Or it's somewhere in the middle. Personally I'm just glad there are formal reports and legal proceedings happening, because we might finally be able to get some really solid capital 'f' Facts on the table. This particular saga has drawn on long enough. For the game and for Lumumba, because regardless of whether all his allegations are 100% accurate it's pretty unquestionable that he did experience unpleasant things during his career.

I think Buckley's greatest flaw is that, for whatever reason, he just doesn't understand how other people think/feel. He looked to have improved, but I honestly think he just did some personal training on management and got better at pretending. Always struck me as a very strange man.

McGuire's greatest flaw however, IMO, is that he's a prideful egotist who can't read the room and is probably scared of even trying to genuinely his change opinions/behaviours because it would mean admitting he was wrong in the past. Biggest and Best club in the land, Biggest and Best president/man in the land.

I don't know how accurate it is, but I suspect that for the longest time he simply saw casual racism as being a part of the "warts and all" aspect of Collingwood and it's supporter base (both of which he loves and is proud of), rather than an actual legitimate issue.

that line is not consistant with the claims they were unnaware of the issue. hence my comment on the inconsistency of the clubs line.
I get what you mean and I wasn't having a dig or anything, but I don't think the official collingwood line has changed (yet?) and that the rumour has been around for a long while.

There's multiple witnesses backing up Lumumba though now ... especially on the nickname.

It isn't really an allegation?

On the nickname, when there are other people now actually putting their names to the counter allegation, I think it's fair to call it an allegation still. Although maybe that's just me feeling like being more formal about it because now it's in a court of law. Unless you're just talking about the fact the nickname was used, rather than where it came from, in which case yeah I consider that to be pretty factual (even though IIRC Bucks has tried to weasel word it to make it sound like it wasn't).

My point was much more general though, towards the allegations as a whole, where there have always been some dispute by the Club and individuals (Bucks and Ed especially).

There's no dispute that the nickname was used. That's not an allegation from what I've read.

What is in dispute is whether it was used as a racial slur and whether the club did enough to prevent it, as in they should have known that it was unacceptable even if "not meant racially".

Yep, the long warned of data tyranny is here.

Almost.

Like, don't take your phone and they can't track you.

Easier said than done though I appreciate.
Phone tracking is ole school, have you heard much about clearview?
They can actually track you from movement, ie the way you walk.

There’s also xrvision, developing wearable video analytics, strangely in bed with Hunter Biden..

The rumours that Lumumba encouraged or even started the nickname have been floating around for a very long time.
No one could even be ****ed using his actual name but lets believe rumours he started calling himself a derogatory name to ... I dunno feel better about himself?

I also think that he's now on what is essentially a crusade against the club, specifically McGuire and to a lesser extent Buckley, and that no response from them at this stage would satisfy him. Not really passing much of a judgement on that at this stage, because for all I know it might turn out to be fully warranted.
That is pretty obvious. He is bitter and angry, after all he can't enjoy the fact he won a flag and was a vital contributor to it any more. If I was in his position I'd feel the same way. A pack of racist arseholes took away one of the most important things in his life.
