Don’t get me wrong, the ALP has been horrendous at times, but a party that can throw up a Curtin, Chifley, Whitlam, Hawke and Keating at least has the potential to do it again.

It will be a cold day in hell before I vote for a party that has #scottyfrommartketing in its ranks.

Don't get me wrong, the modern ALP are a bunch of milquetoast centrists who stand for nothing and I don't personally preference them first federally, but I can't understand why anyone with anything that resembles a moral compass and is capable of something approaching compassion and empathy would vote for this iteration of the LNP. They are utterly horrific and have proved themselves not only incapable but that they lack integrity time and time again.

I was actually having this conversation with a mate a few weeks ago. He used to vote LNP simply because it was the done thing in his family. He comes from a family of small business owners and inherited one of those businesses in his 20s, and they all voted LNP historically. Admittedly we'd had a few beers, but he said to me that he had almost like a self-awareness epiphany where he actually assessed his own values and realised that, no matter how good LNP policies might be financially for himself and his business, he couldn't continue to vote for and support a party that is so abhorrent and morally bereft.

If only we had a functioning progressive alternative in the ALP -- which it could be because there are genuinely good people in that party imo -- but they're beholden to some absolute ****ing campaigners like Joel Fitzgibbon.

I’d be surprised if someone in her position would come forward to the police when the incident occurred. It’s very rare for sexual assault victims to report the event to police, especially if it’s done by someone they know and even more so when it happens if they were intoxicated.

I agree with you that before a trail we cannot judge, so he’s innocent until proven guilty.
In the same breath you can’t then try to establish a ulterior motive for the victim of the crime.
