You can still see bullet holes in the main souk in Damascus that were made by Australians.

The Russian civil war stuff is indeed wild, I'd like ti learn more about that. I do know there were Australians fighting in places like Archangel.

A few VCs were won too.

Very understudied is the role of the freikorps, Junkers, Finland, Poland and the Baltic states in the Russian civil war. So many factions. Things could have been so very different.

Have I ever told you about the time late 1 friday arvo when my supervisor had already knocked off while a few of us carried the can for him. Well, I disconnected the network cable on his computer, but left the cable sitting in place. I casually strolled into work on the following monday and every other donut was running around fretting, the geeks from the city were coming down to fix this issue and the other half of everyone was kinda just laughing. I thought nothing of it until morning tea, when I finally processed my friday arvo thoughts. Oh. Walked up tp my supervisors desk, asked him what was going on while sneakily popping the cable back in. "F@ck" he says, "what did you just do?" "Said hello" I replied :-D He called me a cnut and of I went with with a smirk to finish my cuppa :-D

Looks like you can get a cheaper version of this book. It was written in 2004 so I don’t get why it’s so expensive? I’d love to know what Dan Carlin’s library is worth...
