Benzo withdrawal? It’s a bitch man. They’re so good at what they do. They literally give you your life back. It’s hard to describe what it’s like to one minute not be able to go to work, answer the phone, walk into a supermarket, sit in meetings, have lunch with friends to then take a pill literally not not be worried about a thing. Everything just washes away and your life is back to normal.

I chose the psychologist route. I never wanted to use drugs to treat my pure O variant of OCD as I felt it was a temporary solution.

I still battle it every day, but it is far more tolerable than before. Behavioral exposure therapy was really confronting and you must be willing to be completely honest with yourself and your therapist. I understand therapy is not for everyone, but that is usually because you need to find the right therapist and it took me three therapists to find the doctor I wanted.

Yeah I’ve seen multiple psychologists. Tried lots of different stuff. Eventually I’ll get there. I’m pretty sweet now. I’m pretty confident in EMDR I’m keen to get that cracking again. Honestly most people in my life wouldn’t even know I have this shit unless I tell them.

People have the same reaction when I tell them I have mild Asperger’s syndrome and mild cerebral palsy. You can get good at masking your demons and issues.

I'd argue that this is a strength, not a weakness.

I'm no therapist so Ignore this as nothing more than a comment, but I see a hell of a lot more problematic traits in others around here, than I see in you.

Perhaps you're real issue is not you, but pressure you put on yourself to placate others? I have seen a lot of people get twisted up over the pressures that come from this.

My family aren't Royals, but I would have found it insulting at the least if one of my relatives said that to me.

I'm more inclined to believe the comments would be of concern to their "reputation", than out of concern for how hard it's going to be for them, given how privileged they are.

Perhaps you're real issue is not you, but pressure you put on yourself to placate others? I have seen a lot of people get twisted up over the pressures that come from this.

Yeah it would be nice to not give a ****. But that’s not what put me in this position. I’ve been diagnosed with ptsd and treatment resistant panic disorder. The hard thing is to except that it’s ptsd because I don’t feel like I’ve earned that.

I'm not claiming that, but I am suggesting a better investigation of matters prior to emotional investment. Learning to pause is sometimes all it takes to mitigate the responsive and switch to the more ratrional.

The titles they give these collection of diagnostics never sits well with me, and I doubt there isn't a person alive that doesn't have a good solid 3-4 DSM listed pathologies.

The hard thing is to except that it’s ptsd because I don’t feel like I’ve earned that.

If you have it, you did. PTSD isn't just for SAS dudes leaping out of helicopters.

Trauma is real and it will hurt you later on, but you can deal with it.

Apparently There are changes to coming in where GPs will not be able to proscribe some pain filling drugs in as big of doses and not proscribe longer term scripts. the woman in the interview was basically supportive of the changes but was concerned they hadnt implemented any genuine alternatives before so.

I have never heard of that before.

Mostly reduced muscle control and strength on my right side, which is mixed with average motor skills with the Aspergers.

So I’m very average at sports, but still play them today. Still bat and bowl right-handed, but throw, write and kick left-sided.

But I have to say, the best advice comes from people that have been through it. And im not saying Snake has either, he may or may not have. "professionals" can vary dramatically in their diagnosis approach.

Let's not forget, professionals love a diagnosis and a label . Most things of this nature can't be labelled.
