I don’t know mate. That’s why I was asking. I could spend hours looking into it but in my experience this board has a lot of posters with a wealth of knowledge across a wide spectrum of topics. Thought I’d try my luck.
But, IMO dumping radioactive material into the ocean, even after going through filtration can not be a good thing.
If it’s harmless after being treated why doesn’t Japan do something else with it like put it in their own water?
Geezus she nailed it. Good on her I couldn't have said that more eloquently.
I would say the late Duke was most definitely not in any way a Nazi sympathiser because firstly he was born in Greece (a country invaded by the pricks), he moved to France and lived there for ten years before it was invaded by the Nazis, and he was more or less fostered by his uncle who hated them, and his sisters married Germans and definitely were written out of the wedding invitations and family narrative there ever after.
On the other hand, the Queen's uncle - King Edward was indeed a full on Nazi sympathiser being fauned upon by the Nazi's during state visits to Germany and having privately expressed his personal admiration for Hitler. Thank God that idiot was forced to abdicate. Perhaps it was inevitable that the dickhead King would be forced to abdicate and by some accident the British Empire and subsequently its Commonwealth ended up being headed by two very noble and gracious King and Queen respectively between 1936 to the present day. We ahould all be thankful for that.![]()

Everything you need to know about the plan to release treated Fukushima water
Japan has announced it will dump 1m tonnes of contaminated water into the ocean, sparking controversywww.theguardian.com
Since the 2011 nuclear disaster, radioactive water has accumulated at the plant, including liquid used for cooling, and rain and groundwater that has seeped in. An extensive pumping and filtration system known as Alps (advanced liquid processing system) extracts tonnes of newly contaminated water each day and filters out most radioactive elements.
The plant operator, Tepco, has built more than 1,000 tanks to hold some 1.25m tonnes of processed water at the site but they will be full by the second half of 2022. The Alps process removes most of the radioactive isotopes to levels below international safety guidelines for nuclear plant waste water. But it cannot remove some, including tritium, a radioactive isotope of hydrogen that experts say is only harmful to humans in very large doses.
The half-life of tritium – the time needed for one half the atoms of a radioactive isotope to decay – is 12.3 years. In humans, it has an estimated biological half-life of seven to 10 days.
How will it be released?
Japan’s government has backed a plan to dilute the processed water and release it into the sea.
The government says the process meets international standards, and it has been endorsed by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
“Releasing into the ocean is done elsewhere,” IAEA’s director general, Rafael Mariano Grossi, has said. “It’s not something new. There is no scandal here.” The release is not likely to begin for at least two years and will take decades. A government spokesman, Katsunobo Kato, said the dilution would reduce tritium levels to well below standards set domestically and by the World Health Organization for drinking water, with IAEA supervision.
I would honestly leave the topic alone on this board, it is seriously not worth arguing with some people on this topic.Lets just water down this annoying woke element. Deny it exists.

You're jumping at shadows. The reason you use the term 'woke' so much is because you are trying to find a convenient label/boogeyman for anything that challenges your pre-existing world view/view on how you think the world should be.
To put it a different way should children of non-Christian faith be forced to sing Christian hymns at Christmas time? Because according to the data, only half the kids in any given class will come from Christian families - with that number rapidly declining.

The only information I can find about guardians/carers day are that they are both separate from mothers/fathers day (i.e. not "in lieu" as you are claiming) with National Guardians day being July 26th and National Carers week being October 10-16.
Dude you can't spell properly or punctuate but you're criticising modern edumacation? Its not a rally against woke.
Its about absurdity materializing into mainstream society.
Its also about the education system, failing children in pursuit of non-academic , critical theory ideoligies .
Yes, at my daughters school. Its outlined in the schools letter.
How do you not see the connection with encouraging students to not use gendered pro-nouns , like mother and father.
Take a look at how our students are performing over the last 20 years. We have fallen behind.
Let me guess, this is a funding issue?
Im inetrested to know, which parasitic ideas disguised as progressive have you dismissed?
Valentines Day
All " Hallmark " holidays in my book.

Bottom of the barrell comebacks aye Ferbs.Dude you can't spell properly or punctuate but you're criticising modern edumacation?
Have you ever heard the song?Seriously though how can a tune be racist? Like saying the Benny hill tune yacketey sacks is sexist. Benny jokes may have been sexist but in no practical way can this extend to the tune. Its simply an arrangement of notes with no meaning by itself.
What carols are bad?
Our society worships money and "business", economists are treated like priests (which is fair enough I guess since they constantly spout unscientific, ideological gobbledygook with little relationship to the real world,) and increasing economic productivity (ie paying people less money for what they do) is literally called a holy grail. The commercialisation of everything is due the economic framework. Let's face it, where ever there is a buck to be made interests will be in there getting their cut. Even the church itself. Interestingly some public holidays in the UK are called bank holidays. About as non secular as you can get? Or more morbidly pay homage to the financial institutions?
Music might not be but lyrics can be.Seriously though how can a tune be racist? Like saying the Benny hill tune yacketey sacks is sexist. Benny jokes may have been sexist but in no practical way can this extend to the tune. Its simply an arrangement of notes with no meaning by itself.
lolWhy are you so hung up on this one aspect of my post, when the rest of my post fleshes out the full explanation for my argument?
Why would I even look at that website?I bet you know all this stuff already
So You Want To Be Woke
The path to becoming woke is hard; this site’s meant to help you get there.www.soyouwanttobewoke.com
You must be new here, you’ll learn...The last few pages of this thread are for the toilet - as bad as anything in the first hour of an autopsy thread after a huge loss.
Yes, there are fringe elements on the left that want to cancel anything they find offensive. No, they are not reflective of broader society, or even the broader left-of-centre community.
Yes, there are fringe elements on the right that go out of their way both to offend people as much as possible in the name of “free speech” and to cry foul at the fringe elements of the left as though the “wokes” are trying to cancel everything. No, they are not reflective of broader society, or even the broader right-of-centre community.
Would still be nice to see people treat each other with a little more respect in this thread - no need for name calling and insults.
Look some people just can't help themselves. Even tho its not easy to do its a good idea to try not to take idiots personally.Exactly. After supporting him through his decisions in his love life, it was just a shock, I think it’s also a bit of insecurity.

From what I understand its quite controversial in Japan. I also think there is a competing proposal to evaporate the water after its been filtered.I don’t know mate. That’s why I was asking. Spot onYeah that's not on.
And look, there is nothing wrong with being a ****, or not being one for that matter. Seriously provided its all consensual what you do and who you do it with is no one else's business.
It sucks when your support gets thrown back in your face, or simply forgotten. Some people just can't be helped, no matter how much we want to try.Exactly. After supporting him through his decisions in his love life, it was just a shock, I think it’s also a bit of insecurity.
