That is interesting.

Help my out please. It reads like Hezbollah is the Lebanese army, but that can’t be right because they’re all about Islamic Nationalism. I’ve got to know a bloke recently who spent years in the Lebanese army but he’s Christian. Would that be a different army?

Indeed they wouldn't, they've always been a defensive organisation and now Israel won't attack them because the IDF knows that Hezbollah's rocket armoury will overwhelm Iron Dome.

Is why Hezbollah was confident enough to send its best units for extended tours of Syria.

Theoretically leaves Hezbollah deeply vulnerable - it was their commando units that fought the IDF to a bloody enough standstill in 06 that the war became a stalemate.

But the Israelis know their rockets can be deployed so quickly and effectively that even a lightning strike attack would still guarantee massive and politically unacceptable destruction and death in Israeli cities.

They sound legitimate. The ME is a complicated place. Our daughters train BJJ together and I can tell he’s a bit weird, but he’s ok...if that makes sense. Whenever he brings it up he says we always fight but we forget why.

That was how long ago? 20 years now. And it has only got far worse.

At some point folks are going to work out Israel doesn't want peace or a Palestinian state, but complete control - from the river to the sea - and a servant class in place, much like apartheid South Africa.

The image still riles me up today, and I am on the other side of the world.

I believe the Israeli's promptly tore down the wall behind them so that the Palestinians could not utilise it as a political shrine to the dead kid (he was killed for those not in the know).

You can see how people can be driven to homicidal intentions, then waltz on to a public bus with 5kgs of C4 & a few kgs of nails strapped to their bodies.
