20 years ago the abc would regularly interview Palestinian representatives when this sort of stuff would happen. AS well as Israeli spokespeople. Then at some point in the last decade, maybe more, it stopped. I don't watch the abc these days anyway so they still might do it but they didn't at one point which is why I stopped watching or listening.
They don’t anymore. Hardly any here in Australia do.
Makes me wonder who really runs the world. Or at least western media

As I said, I'm probably just haggling over terms unnecessarily.

I assume so with 14 Arab members of parliament and they have been allowed into elected office since 1949. They would struggle to get an Arab majority though to become PM. There is also some contention over certain civic rights, certain laws being racist and tensions over Israel's wars on PLA and Hamas territory. Generally speaking, they enjoy pretty much the same rights with a few contentious things.

Anyone would think you’re some kind of historian 😜

I know this is splitting hairs a little but that seems at odds with your previous statement that the 1.9 million Arabs living in Israel do share equal rights.

They either do or they don't.
If there is debate over whether they do, then they probably don't.

Not splitting hairs at all, I write fairly generally and use some terms far too interchangeably. I need people to keep me in check sometimes.:)

They pretty much do (generally), but they aren't exactly perfect was more my point.

They all have the same voting rights, they can all serve in parliament, they can serve in the armed forces, freedom of speech, property ownership, education and pretty much all the other freedoms entitled to other Israeli citizens.

The stuff I generally cited were complaints from some civics groups about certain groups of laws, property forfeiture (affects Palestinian refugees outside the country mostly) Jewish-Arab intermarriage civic problems (rather than laws/rights) and Jewish employers ignoring labour laws to discriminate against Arabs. Even with the latter issue, the Israeli government provides a number of grants promoting Arab investment and the Minorities at Risk (MAR) group states that "despite obvious discrimination, Israeli Arabs are relatively much better off economically than neighboring Arabs".

It’s interesting that even here we can get caught up in the technicalities, something that Israeli relies on, to not see the truth that’s right there in front of us.

I think this answers a lot of the questions why western media has distanced themselves from Palestine.
And to discredit the secular resistance by acting all crazy and jihadi.

Bashar used the same trick decades later.

Exactly. I couldn't care less if I was banned, I am more of a reader. I do worry about the guys who post alot though.
Anyway, if you are reading choppy, come on back and go roos.

I post I this thread a bit mainly because the people I’m friends with really don’t care about anything outside our bubble.

I’m just a really bad procrastinator who cannot help himself but butt in on absolutely everything.

I didn't mean anything by that, I really like the stuff that knowledgeable people put in (like your good self on the current Israel/Palestine thing). It is probably pathetic, but whenever something is going on, I tend to go to big footy to see how people are interpreting the situation

But I do wonder how people go, who post multiple time a day, when they are banned. It must be torture.

Remind me of of our jack Russell's that constantly go from go to no to go....

I’d suggest they look inward as our mods are pretty lenient.

I'm actually 15 accounts

My best mate who passed away a few years ago Val always said; " if you go to someone's house and you don't see any books, leave immediately "

Good advice.
