Wow.

There is some crazy sh*t in there. Some of that is flat out racist. - Don't marry arabs cos it'll dilute the purity of your blood line!!! Outright calls for genocide!! I'm sure its not everyone thinks that way, its obviously edited, but its pretty full on how open people are about this. WhereTF have we heard that before? And that is a kid saying it. Then he says they should go back to Iraq!!! Its sad. And f’ed up.

Man some of this stuff is insane. No chance of that situation being worked out if those attitudes are prevalent.

this shouldn't be too surprising to anyone who knows the history of how israel was established, it'd be like going back to 1850 and asking the average australian what they thought of indigenous people.

What did the average Australian think of indigenous people in 1850?

I'm only speculating, but I think you'd hear some similarly dehumanising things. it's what you have to believe to think the project of wiping out a population to replace it with your own is justified.

Or going to 2021 and asking the average Australian what they think of indigenous people.

1) There were no Australians in 1850.
2) There's a mixture of stories about settler & aboriginal relationships.

ok, the average colonist. you know what i mean. i said 1850 because the time frame is roughly similar to how long israel has existed

Abbey Martin is a fantastic journalist. Her work on venezuela when the western world was doing false reporting was eye opening to say the least. Need more journalists like her.

her documentary gaza fights for freedom just launched on youtube, vital viewing for anyone interested in israel/palestine. youtube is trying to spike it with the algorithm so you know it's telling some hard truths

About a decade ago those attitudes weren't as openly popular.

Everything went on just the same but ... we went to war in Iraq despite something like 80% of the population being against it.

Notice how much of this sort of stuff is age restricted now.

Joe Rogan gets to whinge on his massive podcast but people can't watch this doco without signing in to an adult youtube account. That is a shitload more insidious than what Rogan is whining about.

He's not wrong.

He’s not wrong. But I listened to that whole episode and that is taken completely out of context. Prior to that they were talking generally about the tit for tat nature of cancel culture these days and it was actually List that brought up a mindfulness podcast he listened to where the host and guest were earnestly discussing that straight white males can’t engage in self deprecating humour because to be able to be self deprecating as a straight white male is white privilege and therefore it is wrong to do it. List was the one that was annoyed by it and asked Rogan’s opinion. Rogan then went in to say that the problem is you can’t be woke enough because there’s always someone worse off, hence the clip.

I can just about guarantee that anyone that listens to Rogans whole show would understand what he means, because we know him.

Every week media people take a small sample of Rogan and use it to feed their need for clicks. They’re parasites. Same thing happens to Sam Harris

If folks really want to get outraged, listen to Flagrant 2, The Tim Dillon Show, brilliant idiots, legion of skanks, the Monday morning podcast.

Not to mention to hugely popular podcasts about murders. Honestly

All this vaccine talk actually makes me think I should relate why I won't get it and see if anyone has had a similar experience and knows of options to get past it.

I'm absolutely not an anti-vax person and fully encourage everyone else to get it. Simply put, I have an utterly debilitating fear of needles. Even writing this is making my palms sweaty and making me feel a little squeamish. I've tried reading about options on how to get past it but even that is a challenge because images and even thinking and reading about needles makes me feel tingly and uncomfortable. I know that this fear is something that could eventually be life-threatening as well as it perniciously informs every way I think about my health. So much of it comes through the lens of, oh, fu**, what if I need a needle?

Anyone here had a similar experience or knows someone like this? It's something I want to change but have no idea how to go about it because I can't even approach the subject with anything approaching rational thought.

Maybe ask your doctor for advice. It’s obviously a phobia and I commend you for admitting it. People are cured of their phobias all the time and I hope you’re successful too.

I know it’s no help to you as things stand but I literally felt nothing when the needle was inserted. It prompted me to say “oh, is that all? Cool” at the time.

All the best with it anyway. [emoji106]

my old man has a phobia of needles to the point where he once squirrel griped our family dentist while in the chair calmly telling the doc as he stood over him with the needle "you dont hurt me i wont hurt you" we needed a new dentist after that

which raises the all time question, fried or steamed???? i like both. fried when crispy split long ways with a dab of bbq sauce on them are lovely, alternatively steamed to the point that they swell up and are literally collapsing with some soy and sweet chilli are the bomb.
