Yeah I was using Daesh as an example. Funny enough being half Irish I was brought up to believe the IRA were fighting the good fight against the greedy brits but years later I worked with a cockney bloke who was a teenager during the era of IRA terrorist tactics, telling me how it was for him and it gave me a different view on it.

B) Stating a fact gained from assessing the evidence in the way I've been trained to do .

All I’m saying is, your posts would come across as more genuine if you didn’t need to play one side down. Eg instead of saying “look at this cancellation of a left wing person, therefore the RWNJs are wrong, they aren’t being cancelled!” why not just say “look at this cancellation of a left wing person” and let the discussion centre on that? I actually agree with you that it’s terrible if people are being fired for past “controversial” opinions, or even current “controversial” opinions.

The basics of my politics are that a free and fair market is the best way to allocate resources. That freedom of speech should be paramount. That the individual should where possible be left to go about their business unmolested by the state. Themanbun

Thing is, you've been conned into thinking a political party with which your own personal politics/prejudices align represents those values.

So when I point out the failings of that party on an issue, you default to oh look far left, far left!

For example - the Morrison Government just announced it will spend $600m on a fossil fuel poower station despite the fact that the market is showing renewables are the far cheaper option.

You just see RENEWABLES and squeak ohhh far left! In reality, I'm opposed because it is a waste of taxpayers money and a distortion of the market.

I was hoping we could have an actual political discussion, but it seems you're incapable of that.
