Oh man I went down a rabbit hole to see what the conspiracy theorists were saying about old mate with the bow and arrow the other day. Just wanted to see how they can fall into this stuff.

They reckon it was a false flag operation because the guys an actor and there’s some politician trying to ban bow hunting putting a bill forward.

They present it pretty well tbf but it involves a lack of critical thinking to buy in.

The Rittenhouse trial is creating quite a stir in the US…purely going by my Twitter feed. On one side we have people like LeBron James and Charlamagne saying he was faking his his tears.

On the other side the right wing people I follow like Martyrmade (Darryl Cooper) and many others that I don’t follow saying the prosecutor is a disgrace. Some even calling it child abuse.

Either way there’s going to be trouble. Such a divided country. The only thing that might unite them is their belief that the criminal justice system is totally corrupted by politics.

Regardless of how you feel about the merits of the Rittenhouse trial, we're heading for a mistrial or an appeal no matter what because the presiding Judge is farking woeful at his job.

• He left his phone on while in session and his ring-tone was the Trump Rally song
• He was reading a cookie catalogue during session
• He told the prosecution to "hurry up" during fair and reasonable questioning of Rittenhouse, as if there's a time limit on a murder trial?
• He read a bible passage to the jury (???)
• He demanded that the two people shot and killed by Rittenhouse could not be referred to as 'victims', but was perfectly fine with them being referred to as 'rioters, looters, protestors'
• He refused to let the prosection zoom in on a video submitted as evidence, claiming that zooming in "adds pixels" (???)

This judge is just an absolute embarrassment to the judicial system in America.

While that is true, the kid certainly hit the lottery with the people he killed. Especially the nonce that got done for raping a child and bashing his partner. The other bloke he killed pulled a gun on him as well so that’s definitely self defence. With the Federal law of mutual combat recently being used to dismiss 2 murders in Chicago because of a gang war I’m starting to think he walks.

Are they trying him as an adult or juvenile? Either way it’ll be rough for him in jail. If he goes in to Juvie (gladiator school) he’ll be a target, if he goes into adult prison he’ll be a target and even if he gets locked up in protective custody he’ll be in with pedos so as a teenager he’ll still be a target.

Hate to be blunt but if he gets locked up he’ll either kill him self within a year or if he’s lucky the whites will look after him and he’ll be a much worse person then when he went in.

Just a terrible situation all round. They might be inclined to recruit him depending on the politics of where he gets locked up. He’ll have to earn one way or another for his protection from the BGF.

It’s sort of weird how in the US prison system they’ve found a way to get along through sticking to fairly strict rules governed by the connies based on staying with your racial group.

I think he’ll get a token conviction and something of a suspended sentence. Either way he’s life’s going to be very hard.

Also, I wonder what the murder numbers are for that period of civil unrest? I’d be shocked if only his crimes and Floyd’s murder were the 3 only deaths.

The first person he shot was unarmed, so calling that self defence is a stretch.

Just because they are scumbags and bad people doesn't give you the right to deny them their legal rights, nor rename them because of your own beliefs. Since when has the application of a word, in this case a noun a political leaning thing? It is beneath you to taint others because they think that the law and its application should be different for different people.

The photos you show are all after he shot the first victim, and what we see here is the response to that by the mob. Any pictures of him shooting the first unarmed person?

His decision to act as a vigilante set this whole chain of events in motion.

How is this for a counter example?

Imagine if a group of veterans were to have gone to the Shrine of Remembrance to defend it from the anti-vaxxer mob, and in the ensuing riot an anti-vaxxer was killed by one of the veterans using a hunting knife. And their defence was that they were acting in self-defence because they had felt themselves to be threatened by one of the mob.

Further, it was discovered post-killing that the person killed was a convicted criminal with a string of convictions including, rape, armed robbery and assault; would the courts say that they are not a victim? Should the veteran be allowed to walk?
