I really don't think Neil expected Spotify to pull Rogan but he wanted to make a point and be heard.

He's also pulled his work from Spotify before so I really don't think he gives a sh*t about losing a mill or two by pulling his work again.

He doesn't actually own it. A company called Blackstone does. Via Hipgnosis. Well they own half or something.

They paid $150 Million for it a few years ago. I assume he took that money and now his decision will cost those investors money, not just Young. Not that I really care about those investors.

I dunno if you noticed or not (probably not) but I was pretty bitter about Niel Young selling out his principles after 9/11. Bitterly disappointed might be a fair description. So if he's costing a bunch of caspitalist scum ****s tens of millions of dollars to support vaccination as a general principle that's pretty cool on his part. Credit where its due.

His autobiography Waging Heavy Peace is an interesting read. It starts on a topic and will often meander all over the place like a Crazy Horse jam before coming back on track with a vengeance.

Oh well. I was looking for something positive. He did say it would cost him tens of millions of dollars tho and they own half the publishing rights so that would have been significant wouln't it, its half the money from the song every time its played yeah? But of course they'll live.

BTW I said Black Rock and Vanguard own everything (including Hipgnosis via Blackstone) upthread it wasn't really truye. What I really meant (and should have typed) was they own a piece of everything (often a pretty big piece.)

The funny thing is I don’t think these people actually listen to the show. For example, he just had Julianna Peña (the chick who just beat Amanda Nunes to become the champ) and she said she’s really into conspiracies and thinks it’s all a money making scheme, he stopped her and said he doesn’t think it’s that at all…..then she said you just had dr McClough on and he was talking about them burning down the forest in Brazil where they get ivermectin (iirc I’m just going from memory) from, then Joe says what I don’t think the doctor realised was that Brazilians have been burning the Amazon for agriculture for years and it’s more likely to be from that.

My point is he shut it down straight away because he was talking to a fighter talking out of their ass and not a world renowned doctor.


It’ll be interesting to see if Rogan even acknowledges Young. I’m guessing it’ll be on an episode with a friend where they’re just getting high and shit talking.

Do you mean like a seven day average case number of covid hospitalisations, not stays of more than 7 days from covid that imply a severe infection?

That means there is no way the unvaxxed hospital rate could be 12 times higher and its only severe cases that are five times higher and it was poorly written. Which was their only out, or the only way the signatories had to claim they weren't actually misinforming people themselves. Its definitely only five times higher.

The letter is still doing exactly what the people who signed it want Rogan moderated for.

No, I think it is the total number in hospital in that 7 days whether they were in the hospital for part or all of it. Because the same timeframe was used for both cases and hospitalisations I don't think it is the 7 days from infection metric.
