in other words, "this didnt pan out as we expected, can we go back to the stats quo" what a laugh. they put the bill up , it got amended and passed in its amended form and steamrolling thier intentions and now they want to take their bat and ball and go home.

Rogan's libertarianist, anti-establishment, pro-Americanist individualism has come to the fore during the pandemic but he is a pretty decent human being. He isn't the only person to lose perspective on certain things during the sh*t show that has been the last 24 months.

It was clearly a dumb and offensive thing to say and my understanding of the context was that he was trying to be funny but totally missed the mark, regretted his comments and pulled the podcast. Was he baked? Fair enough he gets called out on it. But as a person I don't think he is racist and from the many conversations I have heard him undertake with many people I get the feeling that his is inherently a good human, who, like all humans, are prone to saying stupid shit from time to time. His just happen to be broadcast and accessible 12 years later.

Sam Harris isn't a right wing nut job or a nutjob. Not that I agree with everything he says either, even in that podcast, but he isn't racist or a right winger, not even a right whinger which is almost the same thing. It just shows how borked everything now is.

It's also quite ironic about criticisms of his comedy style of "black ppl are like this, white ppl are like this..." considering he made it big through Chappelle and doing gigs in front of predominantly African Americans as well as being the only white comic on many of these occasions. he's always been very "progressive" when it comes to African Americans.

Yeah, it's not event close, and Harris kinda alludes to this in mentioning the different approach Rogan takes in his podcasting, which is far more organic and less prepared.

So he is either racist for saying this one thing, or he isn't, which the vast majority of his content and his friends of many races and religions will tell you is the case. I will go with it being far more likely that he is not a closet racist who has done a fairly good impression for over a decade of his public life of being a curious, thoughtful and inclusive human being who occasionally says some borderline shit (and in this one instance clearly wrong shit) due to his role as a comedian and his broad range of conversations.

Fair points KT, let me just give you a little lesson. When you’re a student who catches public transport everywhere you have nothing else to do but surf the internet even when I’m going to chapel street to hang out with some friends or that special someone hehe.

Days off of work like today I have nothing to do so I just be lazy and shitpost whilst waiting for the clock to click to 5:50 so I can be on my way to footy training.

I also have O week coming up where it’s gonna be hectic.

I just love to talk about north rather than politics. People can post a lot and still have a life hehe
