Visited a mate in Montana a couple of years ago for a boys trip. Had to visit the local police station to register to go fishing. But no problem at all just wandering up to the shooting range and firing automatic and semi automatic weapons customised for military operation.

What I learned is that guns don’t kill people. Fish kill people.
thats why they have Otters,

After many months of umming and aahing about it, I finally took the the plunge and bought an external DAC (Digital to Audio Converter) for my old school stereo hi-fi. Nothing too fancy, it's a US brand called Schiit (I Schiit thee not). I've just hooked it up and am very happy with it. Currently listening to Oils On The Water on CD and it sounds f***ing awesome. I feel like I'm there on Goat Island.

D to A streaming?
Yeah. Currently running both the CD player and Chromecast Audio through it. I've bought a new higher resolution streamer which is arriving in the next few days.

I am stressssssinggggg that I might miss the quota for physio. I need to score both 75% in both human bioscience units.

I just finished my first exam in Human bioscience A. I am currently sitting on 73.28% for HBA but I’m shit scared I will narrowly miss it. But I’m literally averaging 90s in my other subjects🥲

This shit is stressful

I don’t know what I’d do, but I do know that if I was too scared to go into the school to try and save some kids then I shouldn’t be a cop.
What if that burning building was full of children?

I know it’s simplistic but it’s true.

So in a country where they have a problem with assault rifles the police only have revolvers?

If there is a burning building full of kids and I take a crew to the fire I dunno if I'd let them in. No matter how badly they wanted to go in or I wanted to do something.

What's the point of more people dying needlessly?

If we don't have CABA and crew trained to use it then sending people into a burning building means they will be unconscious from smoke inhalation with a minute or two and probably dead soon after. At that point we have no one to send in to rescue them either. Its about knowing the limits of what you can do and how to avoid making things worse. There may be some things we could do. The cops in the US have military grade weapons, but they don't carry them in squad cars. They have specially trained and equipped units. Which they need cos if you fire an assault rifle in a school classroom, unless its an old brick building and you are pointing the dangerous bit of the gun at a wall you don't where that bullet will stop.

If you're ever in a gunfight in a building ... just shoot campaigners thru the walls! Cos that will work. But if they have hostages ... well you might hit the hostages even if you are shooting thru an open door, let alone blindly thru a wall. It happened that way at the Lindt Cafe a few years ago.

When Jared Lee Loungher shot a bunch of people including a judge and politician in Arizona (**** that's over a decade ago,) there were a bunch of people in the crowd with concealed weapons they were allowed to carry but none took a shot at him cos there were ordinary people everywhere and none of them felt confident enough to shoot him and not hit an innocent person. Turns out most American gun nuts don't just go in all guns blazing.

I reckon there is something similar going on with that situation you are talking about. Don't know for sure but it seems the most likely situation.

Honestly its a lot easier to be a hero if you're just a random member of the general public in most situations.

Dunno if it still works this way but go see the people running the physio departments you want to study at. Get to know them and build relationships. That will make up for a few percent missing off test results.

Talk to your lecturer/tutor about what you need to do to drag it up less than 2%.

It's not much.

Because if then I miss it, I’ll just have to do either nursing or health sciences then do a masters in physiotherapy 😭

But I did calculate I just need both exams 80% or above.

Physio at LTU is one of the hardest to get into, but they can and do make exceptions for some who fall below the WAM cut off. Make sure you put in an app either way and don't be afraid to reach out to other unis as well.

You know who likes this ? Ol' mate VonDaniken.
And Velikovsky and his mates. Actually human history is different to what we learned in schools.

Probably not that different, just a bit longer and more complex. Even a country like Australia - most of the areas occupied during human habitation are under water now. Blackfellas were everywhere but they had much higher population densities near the coast or large water sources like rivers, lakes and bays.

I’ll reach the WAM just fine, as I said I’m averaging 90s in my other subjects and I just need an 80 WAM. It’s human bioscience A that is killing me.

Thanks bestie. I will reach out to my academic advisor 💗

i would question the intelligence of the person who thinks a texas cop is strapped with a .38 police special if you think the average jo nut job has mill spec weaponry you should see the shit the police are packing especially in that state
You should see the shit the civilians have! You're allowed to openly carry assault rifles in parts of Texas. Open carry supporters used to troll anti gun parent meetings and stuff but turning up and just walking around with military grade firearms. Crazy place.
