Highlighting your own ability isn't lying if it is true.

I don't and haven't worked in retail, but I would assume that they will ask questions about handling customers. As a referee you absolutely will have transferable skills. you just need to be able to draw the parallel to how you have them, and how they apply.

go in with the mindset that this person wants to give you the job. THey just need to find out about you enough to do that.

Thank youuu

I’m just shit scared they will ask me something about boating camping or fishing because I can’t remember the last time I’ve done any of those lol

Last min tips for a job interview? I’m gonna fake it till I make it but just need some things to think about

Always make sure you do a bit of research, even just on their website, about how they see themselves. What they sell, their 'goals', how they are different from the competition and all that stuff.

Think about how you can apply previous experience with customer service. Listening, considered responses and follow up to requests. A lot of questions you will get are just common sense, and you can apply your own experience as a customer in other environments to how you think a good staff member acts. You can tell when one person knows what they are after and another is getting a bit overwhelmed looking for a gift for a family member or friend and it is a good time to ask if you can help.

Just be friendly in your interview, and don't seem to be trying to fit the role into your lifestyle too much.

My tip is that you shouldn't under any circumstances take advice from random posters on a footy-related internet forum.

I assume a bit of a general sales and store role?

On top of Swallow's comments:

Make it a point of really highlighting your retail and sales skills (and experience?). Have a think now on exactly why you want the job and what you think your strengths are. Just a few strong points will do.

As I said earlier, they obviously liked something on your CV.
Definitely, also, you are a nice person, be yourself and you’ll be grand sachx
Let us know how you get on and there’s nothing wrong with getting experience with having a bad interview, it just shows areas to improve 👍 Sometimes your best career decisions can come from bad job interviews.

Just be yourself - as krakouers85 said you will learn from the interview. If you don't get it just red card them. There are heaps of retails jobs around at the moment so keep looking. You will land one. if you don't know BCF is part of a group that owns Rebel Sport, Macpac, Supercheap Auto and a few more. Big retail group. Good luck!

Thanks gk!! Yeah my dad told me about them!

If I land it surely you come visit? Hahaha

I like socialism as an idea but so many atrocities have been committed by socialist powers on the people they rule that it’s hard to not see it going sideways.
Good thing capitalists don't do that hey.

How do you feel about organised religion?

Lol. Knew that was coming. Maybe it has more to do with the time period that socialism took over then the motives of the people that implemented it. Is anyone doing it well now? I know capitalism isn’t perfect but it does seem to come with more freedom. Think DesertRoo is right that a good balance is ideal. Something in the middle would be perfect. Bezos just became the richest (known) person ever while people can’t get health care, that’s pretty messed up.
Hey, just out of interest...

What is freedom?

I go to where the worst happened because it’s always good at the top no matter where you look…and I expect that I’d have been on the poorer side so I can relate more. I’m of Irish heritage as well, my nan was put in an orphanage by her mother after she migrated here. Irish and some Polish apparently.

I judge all nations on how they treat the people they deemed undesirable. So when I think of ‘the West’ I think the US, Australia, Britain, Canada etc.. and while they all did terrible sh*t I don’t read stories of farmers deliberately starved to death while their made to give up their cops and far, far worse stuff that I won’t go into but you would probably know about.

Anyway I was just wondering if there’s a country where they’re outperforming capitalism, where the poor people have food, shelter and freedom. I was thinking Denmark would be close but that’s just a guess, I’m not 100% on their political set up.
What happened in Ireland 150 - 200 years ago?

Before the Cuban Revolution literacy was under 20% in that country (and the (mostly underage) sex industry provided the most employment.) Now its claimed to be 100% and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that whatever the true rate its around 95%. In about 2005 the Chaser did a skit where they asked a bunch of Americans "What date did 9/11 happen?" and all of them got the answer wrong. i'm sure there is a lesson in there somewhere.

I'm also pretty sure the US has higher rates of homelessness.

Hasn't been the case in every generation? When they're young they're overwhelmingly progressive, but as they get older and start making their own money and have children, they get increasingly self-interested, even selfish, and want to protect what they have from perceived threats, real or fabricated?
That only happens to bourgey campaigners.

So you are saying that socialism is better than capitalism?

We reported yesterday that former Wallabies star Quade Cooper had a bid for Australian citizenship rejected, despite playing more than 70 tests for Australia.

Cooper was born in New Zealand but came to Australia when he was just 13. He’s since played for the country at two world cups and won a Super Rugby championship with the Queensland Reds.

Still, it was apparently not enough for the home affairs department to confer him citizenship.

Farcical stuff.

Now home affairs minister Karen Andrews has stuck to the hard-line. She told Brisbane radio that the decision to give someone citizenship was not done “lightly”.

Andrews:

Get farked...

Pity we can't send Karen Andrews back where she came from.

Yes that's exactly what I am saying. Didn't you read it when I typed "Socialism is better than capitalism" in that bit you quoted twice?

I do think there would be a few less songs in Ireland if they did support them more during the 1848-49 years
->not condoning, just stating a fact

Now, I told you a solid plan…
All you had to do, rock up, completely naked, wearing a clown nose, nipple clamps, lie completely even about the most obvious questions and you were going to be grand… the job would have been yours…
Don’t blame me for you forgetting the clown nose
