Agreed. But I'm not sure if it will happen. People are greedy and there are always new ways to be scammed. People said the garbage would die out after 2018 but a lot remain. Some smarter projects have a treasury in the hundred's of millions (and not just their own token) so can theoretically survive for 7+ years with the same staff in place (UNI has several billion).

Celo are in a lot of trouble and rumours are they may go insolvent. There has been a bit of gossip about their team using customer funds to farm riskier projects and with the recent downturn has resulted in a lot of loss. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Rumours around blockfi being in a bit of strife with gBTC and the recent "oops we gave you BTC can you please give it back" saga.

The eye-opening thing for many is just how quickly yields drop off once volume slows and more relocate to stable coins. The more legitimate defi projects like yearn, a0ave, and co. have stable yields less than tradefi now. High risk but high reward. I've been playing around with crypto since 2017 and it's a minor miracle I've avoided hacks/exploits, rugs, insolvency and everything else under the sun. All so risky but it has been fun.
Didn't know that about celo, just noticed them this weekend due to the partnership with opera browser.
Uniswap is a good one though, I haven't spent a lot of time looking into LP but it seems to be one of the benchmarks of finance for web3.

Cuban should have came under fire for Dallas Mavericks partnership with 5miles. A company that started a dodgy crypto (cybermiles) to generate funds for a jersey sponsorship.

It was funny seeing Cuban shown the app in 2018. He obviously had some idea about crypto at the time and he was very unimpressed. The 5miles and cybermiles team filmed the incident hoping it would pump their coin...it did not.

Yeah i wouldn't risk Celo right now. I used blockfi for over a year it was very easy and I enjoyed the 8.5% APY on USDC (since dropped). Their alignment with the Winklevoss twins and Gemini make it feel safer but even then after their recent issue i wouldn't feel safe in it. Especially when you read the ToS and see they basically wash their hands of everything should there be an issue.

Uniswap is good but the only issue is the token has no use still. I know that tends to be the meme with governance tokens but the governance votes are dominated by VCs that have a large stake in it. Smaller fish have no say in the direction. Which is why their newest update (V3) benefits whales the most. It'll be better once they add a revenue feature for token holders. Similar to what a number of other's have done.

Next year will all be very interesting with L2 solutions coming out soon, growth on other platforms, and btc developers/holders scrambling to make BTC viable so that they don't suffer the wrath of the extinction rebellion types who drag it through the mud.

Lol trigger warning for whoever follows the US elections.. NYC mayor

Usayed Givashe

How's the yield farming going? Seen a few controversial happenings in defi over the past couple weeks.. not sure if any of that affected you, heard Mark Cuban lost a bit of cash haha

Smooth sailing mate, the issue with Binance is they didn’t want them making markets in traditional asset classes. You can however still purchase BTC and the rest through their website in the UK.

Just buy on dips and pray, nothing has changed ;)

Yield plays are going well and the stable coins are well pretty stable, pancake, Binance etc all bounced back pretty hard. Picked up some Shiba and Ankr whilst the market tanked for shitz and giggles.

Gotta say, after all the skiing we got in during the metro lockdown, happy to be back home at the farm these school holidays.

Mooooooooooooo

We don't have any at the moment, we just lease out our land to neighbours. We own alpacas and a few cows we are fattening up for sale. Most of our land we are trying to improve for future stock.
It is nice to look out at the lambs that are someone else's problem.
