I missed this, Kim Jong-un has told the people of North Korea that they’re going to have another “arduous march”, AKA another period of famine like the 90’s. In the 90’s North Koreas went through a period like what the Russians did to Ukrainians where they forced people into starvation. Some even into cannibalism. Pretty ****ed up. Kim Jong-un needs to swallow his pride and cooperate with other countries but I can’t see it happening.

There have been some rumblings outside Pyongyang. U S. mightn't bring KIM down but covid might.

It all goes hand in hand with all your opinions being straight out of the CRT handbook.
The only person to bring CTR into the discussion was people trying to stand by Healy.. which funnily enough is yourself..

the others have recognised that he used the term ‘lazy’ which is a derogatory term against aboriginals. Which has nothing to do with CTR.. which you do and don’t want to talk about..

Has he actually called him lazy though? That’s something I would remember…unless I was at the game.

I’ve heard it a couple of times this year, drops it casually.

As others have said, I doubt he even knows he’s doing it or what it means.
Healy has called us three time this year, against the Dogs, the Giants and the Demons. The only time Healy has used the word lazy during these calls was against GWS, and that was directed to GWS players, not TT.

Most of his calls on Thomas are split between how fantastic he is and that he needs to learn to work harder. He does come across as being on Thomas' back more than any other player though, but it seems to be because he thinks he has the ability to be a great player but has fitness and application issues. Whether or not he is being unconsciously racist is impossible to tell from his comments. My personal conclusion is that Healy is not being racist in any way and that people are defensive of our own players and that is combining with a propensity for people to see offence everywhere these days. Could be wrong though, but would have to ask Healy about that.

As I and others have said all along, if you pulled he and other commentators up on it and explained the connotation, they’d probably be mortified.

just uncouth language in the modern age…

But if they said nah, bullshit, and kept going, well that’s another story..

What language specifically?

Healy hasn't called him lazy once this year (don't know about in the past as I haven't checked), but stated that he needs to work harder in certain areas of his game if "he wants to become a great player". And our coach alluded to this being a focus of his. Statement of fact in language that is not loaded is not racist. Nothing Healy has said in the three games he covered for us this year could be considered uncouth in any age.

The only issue I could pick up in this is the number of times he makes calls on Thomas compared to other players and perhaps that raises peoples eyebrows. Off the top of my head I think its about 9 distinct comments on Thomas which is more than most players he has called in those games, with 5 on the stuff he needs to work on and 4 on his talent and things he did or does well. Maybe its because he is unconsciously biased and picks out the indigenous kid as a consequence, or maybe its because he genuinely thinks that Thomas has what it takes to be a great player but has stuff he needs to work on. My personal read is that Healy thinks TT has all the talent in the world and would like to see him fulfil that talent, hence the criticism (as well as the praise).

Feels like I'm at a bit of a crossroads with my work. It's been a fantastic place with a really collegial culture. Unfortunately it has grown a lot in the past 4 or 5 years and some of the people recently brought onboard are...toxic to say the least. It's like you can palpably feel the culture shift to one of latent hostility in every conversation. One thing I've never dealt well with is passive aggression.

What would you do in that position?

Suck it up and become a jerk in order to get anything done? Quietly look for other jobs and bail without mentioning why? Flag it with your bosses and hope a shift occurs (unlikely)? Find another job and then flag your reason for leaving upon your exit?

I'm leaning towards that last option at this stage. I'd prefer not to leave, as my direct colleagues I deal with on a day to day and my bosses are the best I've ever had, but toxicity ain't fun.

Right so what happened to Bakers?

Actually a tad sad as he was according to himself the most popular poster on here. Oh and yes I want the full story none of this abridged shite.
I guessing he uploaded 'rig' pics and copped a permaban. Please be so.

Don't know what he did but he's moved to Twitter and is thanking all his fans there. Unfortunately none have liked his tweet. 😄

I can’t stand passive aggressiveness. Such an annoying trait. The third option is probably the best, but I’d most likely just bail or put up with it.

Went on the Carlton board, who are a bit sensitive, and posted some stuff they didn't like, so he's suspended again.
