That's a shame, I was of the impression that the Roos really loved the bloke. I always thought if Chunk had left the Dees for a flag elsewhere I'd be barracking for him regardless (even if he had joined Collingwood) in the finals.

There are certain players over the journey who embody North through and through. If we were talking about Cunnington for example, and there was a fully amicable departure from the club, then I would be delighted for him. Brown on the other hand, although a good human and decent footballer, never really embodied the club, nor did he have a clean break from the club in a sense, so I kinda don't care.

That said if the Dees win I won't be annoyed to see him lift the cup. I might go, that's nice, then forget about it.

I didn't realise that Brown's departure was considered less than amicable tbh - I thought he wanted to stay but North didn't want to offer him the same length as Melbourne? Obviously there's more to it that I'm not aware of.

I met him a few times when he was playing for us and he's a genuinely nice bloke. What's more, he genuinely hates *. I know the latter because I once asked him this exact question and his answer was an emphatic "Of course!".

Disclosure: he's my Kerridge nominee this week so I have a vested interest in him doing well. I also might have a nibble at the $11 he's paying for first goal kicker.

Five or six years ago a mate of mine picked up a 2008 Hilux for 22K from an ex rental supplier in Toowoomba or Ipswitch. It was less than 10 years old. It was in excellent nick. He still has it, hasn't missed a beat and his place is a wild property so it gets a bit of abuse. I can't remember the company, whether it was rental company or one that handled ex rentals from a bunch of places but it would be worth checking out.

I'll see if he can track down the company. First thing he did was stick a massive North logo on the drivers door.

Hey mate. Ended up getting a 2017 Triton with 30 thousand on the clock. Got it from a dealer and pretty happy with price. Really happy with it so far. Took kids to an off road track near Brisbane the other day, handles well.

from what i understand it went something like this:
-north offers brown a 3 year deal early in 2020, his manager knocks it back (at about 750k i believe, could be wrong)
-brown ends up out of form then misses the second half of the season with an injury
-manager comes back and asks for the original deal, north says it's off the table. i believe a shorter contract offer was made, north advises him to look for other options if he wants more, so he does.

as close to a win/win trade as you'll find, since we used the two second rounders to get jaidyn stephenson. stevo has done some dickhead things off-field but he can really play, and he fits the age profile of the list better.
